Yes, the initial release of E:A did very well, but look at the long wait for Swordwind, and F/Orks, etc. ... The slow down continued ...  And look at the Chaos (sprue) release ... Chaos AFV molds destroyed or MIA ?!  You don't treat a big $ maker like that !   And As I said, if G/W-F/W Epic disappears ... we can do it all here !  Rules & minis (DRM, E/W, etc.) !:

I hope that other armies sees daylight sometime, but maybe that is just daydreaming... Still, Epic and other SG games aren't going to die, there is always diehard fans that keeps it going. :D

As long as I have copies of a pattern, the mold isn't truly destroyed.

And I do have chaos rhinos from E40K... :;):

But no land raiders :(

How come Otterman can create molds from the old minis and GW cant?  How hard would it be for them to go "Hey Epic players we need a copy of an old mini we want to rerelease - we will pay you the cost of the mini / send you one of the first good 'new' ones."

Certainly not impossible. I remember during the Steel Legion Playtesting when Jervis talked about reintroducing the Capitol Imperialis he mentioned something about "cleaning up the origiginal model".

The model which will be used for the mould would probably need to be cleaned up a lot before the cast as well. GW isn't exactly gnown to sell flash free models...

Ultimately though it is probably a matter of will and money...

Odd, I have a memory of reading something by Jervis about making an entirely new Capitol sculpt. Because of the track sprue mold missing.

Personally, I would like both. My own Capitol is a piece of junk.

That track sprue is a nightmare. I'm not going to mold it.

IIRC that track unit is based on a 1:76 M113 and there's a model shop in Edinburgh that had a couple of these kits in stock last time I was in there.

If anyone wants to take a chance on me being right about this I can try and get hold of these kits and post them on.

My memory is also that the CI was going to be a new sculpt, something of a hybrid between the Leviathan and old CI.  That's why the stats had more guns than the old CI.

As far as molds, I seriously doubt that they destroyed the masters and even if they did, surely someone could get their hands on a production model and create a new master relatively easily.  As WMN said, it's more a matter of the willingness to spend the money to do so.

Aye the CI & Hellbores couldn't be put back into production due to the use of a non-GW plastic tracks sprue in the model.

I got the distinct impression when I spoke to Andy Hall at GamesDay (And in follow-up emails) that the reason the Chaos metal models will not be re-released is monetary, not because they were literally lost.

Yes, both the CI & Hellbore Transporter were mounted on M113 Tracks, I have both models and commanded a Co. of M113s !!   Yes, I though the New CI was going to be something different than the Mk.1 CI.  There was a pic of the concept somewhere. And yes, it looked like a CI/Lev. Combo, IIRC ?  If some of you remember, I posted a pic of a Looted Ork CI, I did ... My buddy molded it all in Resin, years ago.  It had a lot of flaws.  So I "Looted" it and I mounted it on Airfix 1:76 scale M3 Halftrack treads in the rear and Dark Future tires in the front.  So you really don't need the M113 tracks ! :alien:

I dont think that anyone really believes that the molds were 'lost' for the Chaos stuff! It is a shame that there seems to be this lack of communication in some ways.
