I really like the French Fleets from Brigade as well- I'm leaning heavily to one of their starter packs and one for the Russians also.

The Russians are cool if only for their support vessels (especially the seaplane tender...the kid in me loves the cranes ), and the 'round' look is certainly different. The Russian static aerial batteries they have in the design studio look like they could be cool too...I suspect I may have to get a few of those as British 'aquisitions' The French definately look nice, very sleek.

Nice pics.
In the background how to the Aircraft return to their carries. ?To they hook up?
I know there where some bi planes like launched and returned from Zipplens back in the twenties. ?
Just curious
Tas,
If you do French and Russians Fleets you can easily recreate a Mediterranean "Naval/Air" conflict. ?And then get invloved with Vanvlak with his Turkish fleet. ?
It will be the second Crimean war

Awesome Idea!
I was thinking of the long expected, never materialised expansion into the Pacific of that War - which prompted the construction of fortification in Sydney and Melbourne to keep out marauding Russkies.
The other problem is that I just dont think the Brit ships are the nicest, which pains me and the New South Wales Flotilla obviously is British. ?Guess they'll have to settle for some cheap offcasts from soemone else! ?
V- I'll cut my orders to set sail next week! Be a good chap and have the appropriate cocktail parties and receptions planned would you?

There seem to be a couple of methods looking at the models.
Some have a flight deck they land onto, conventional style. ?The "tenders" seem to get the fighters to match course and speed, then hook up the crane and bring them back onboard - ie more helicopter style.
Real Zepplins' planes were launch only - they couldnt be recovered. They did their missions, then landed on an airfield somewhere

Here is a Website about the USS Akron. It includes shots of the plans "landing" by being caught and pulled back abord the Airship.
Here is a Site for the USS Macon. Also a Lighter then Air - Aircraft Carrier. This site has some good shots of the "Catcher" (my word not theirs).
Now I do not feel like such an Old Man with bad memory.
