If the original Terminators were bad, the Genestealer Hybrids were even worse!
(And I have four copies of first edition, one of Genestealer, one of Deathwing and one of second edition. I also have Space Crusade and Advanced Space Crusade.)
I think that the price issue will be big problem. GW wont want to give away too many minis for cheap, the game will need about 10 Terminators and 20 Genestealers and MB will probably target the game at around ?25.

the plastic termies available currently are far prettiest than the original one. I personally don't think any other 28mm mini could compete with their lump of plastic look. (so that 2nd ed Epic Vindicator can't compete). I still have some, but their only value is certainly fond remembrance of a marvelous game i sold many years ago... How stupid was i...

Well, if they do, I hope they don't screw it up as much as (AFAIK) they did with Space Crusade... nor do they make out as poo games as Gremlin did with SC and HQ (played both, no fun).

Hi!
I had all that game and all the expansions. I thought it was very fun to play. Too bad I wound up giving it away!

Ah ha! Another ASC fan. This is one of my top three GW games (guess what the other two are!). Personally, I thought that this game was brilliant, and very well done. Unfortunately, it gets torn apart by the majority of players, and I cant quite work out why. Even Jervis doesnt like it, and he wrote it!
The mix of card exploration and mini encounters is great, and the flexibility of the game system puts it above Space Hulk for me. Sure, it is a bit more complex, and takes longer to get used to, but it allows a huge variety of tactics and very interesting games and scenarios. I liked it so much that I started adding new rules for it for things like Dreadnoughts.

I got a copy from one of my local games shops a couple of years ago, for ?15 with most of the marines missing, but all the card stuff in perfect condition; I've yet to play it, but I'm sure it will eventually get dragged out for a go...
Interestingly, a year or so after it was released, GW repackaged it as (iirc) 'Tyranid Attack', adding a load of new minis (inc the horrible Terminator Librarian)... dunno if they changed the rules at all though...

If I remember, Tyranid Attack was one of the 'dodgy four' comrising UltraMarine, Space Fleet, et al. Drag out ASC and give it a fair go, but if you play Tyranid Attack, dont assume that it is like ASC. And, the original plastic Tyranid Warriors were extremely cool, and so much better than their second, metal incarnation.

I'm pretty sure that tyranid attack abandoned the exploration part of the game, ie one of the really good bits!
I have 22 of the old plastic warriors, including some still unassembled, waiting for 4th edition 40k to see what i want to do with them.
I've been limiting my wargaming stuff too, sold a few thousand dollars worth of stuff over the last couple of years. ?I now 'only' have 40k marines (beakies), and tyranids (old warriors, new gaunts), 5 epic armies, and 4 DBM armies. ?
