Ordered.  Somehow I missed Space Hulk the first time around. I think I was too engrossed in Epic, and ignored anything in 'proper' 40K.  After over a decade of friends telling me,"oh, you've gotta play Space Hulk," I'm in.

I wanted the plastic board, too.  However, I'm reminded that this is a boardgame, and it looks very good to me. I will, however, give those red marines a hard look with a file in one hand to see if they can be converted to a proper chapter.

Pre-ordered.  $99US.  Doesn't hurt that bad, it seems a fair price compared to other games i've bought recently (Small World, Battle Lore, Axis and Allies 25th).  Seems like you get a pretty full box of some pretty cool looking sculpts.  All the Termies look awesome, the dead marine on the throne, the broodlord, the different stealers.  I bet people would pay $100US just for the minis to play with their 1st and 2nd edition SH.

Seems people are having a hard time getting around the fact that this doesn't need or require 40k to play or are upset they can't use it to boost their 40k armies. Expectations have changed it seems.

That, or its just warseer being populated by morons

Quoted For Truth!

I don't care that they're Blood Angels in the box.  I will never have a Blood Angels army.

And even though I've got a Tyranid army, I'll never use these Genestealers with it.

In fact, I think these pieces are so nice in their own terms, I'm not even going to paint them - I like the 'Board Game' feel of having them just two different coloured plastics.

I will, however, convert and paint a team of Chaos Terminators to go Space Hulk searching - and some daemonic nasties to populate the hulk - Genestealers aren't the only nasty lurking in the 40k universe...

Really, for me this set is going to be the platform for so much gaming.  I can see my wife and step-children playing this - they've got bored quickly when they've played 40k.  Then there's gaming at my local club, where there's interest in doing Space Hulk campaigns.

I think dismissing this because of the Blood Angels, or the bases, or whatever, is just cutting one's nose to spite one's face.

I'm really looking forward to being able to play Space Hulk again

I just hope they release (or publish in their monthly advertisement/magazine) some rules for using orks/demons/etc.

I know I could house rule those things, but uniform guidelines help when playing with strangers.

Amen Firestorm.

It seems that forums devoted to 40K or wargames in general are populated by people who just love to bash on GW products.  Cries of "Codex Creep" "We want X codex updated" "The new rules nerfed X ability" "models are too expensive" "Metal is too expensive" "plastics are too expensive" etc...This is a board game, not 40K.

I pre-ordered a copy, too, but I am on the fence as to whether or not to cancel it. I never played the original, nor do I care about Space Marines or Tyranids in 40k (so the "value" of all the models is lost on me) making the game a pricey boardgame that has to stand on its own. Maybe some of the Hulk vets out there can help me: is this a "Saturday night" game that I can play over beers with my wife and friends, all of whom like boardgames, but aren't wargamers? I'm not looking to get them started on mini wargaming, just have some fun with a game that is relatively quick to learn, fairly tactical and replayable.

I know - I not asking much at all.   At $140 Cdn after taxes, though, I can buy two other boardgames for that price; is this one value for money?

Would be great if GW would release a new version of Space Crusade :)

I do not play 40K, only Epic and I pre-ordered mine as soon as I was informed of the Space Hulk V3 release. It's a great game, easy to learn, easy to play and still interesting even after having played all the standard missions many times. If the V3 rules are close to the V1 rules, you can't be wrong with this game, even if it's "quite" expensive (but not that much compared to the SH V2 price), it's value for the money, for sure!

Its probably a good intro game to minis for board gamers, if the rules are like the previous editions.

You get action points to move, turn, shoot, get eaten by bugs combat stealers in base contact. Its chess like in once you start moving a piece it moved until all its actions are done.

Fun game but as I still have my old one, I don't think I will jump on this bandwagon.

$99US.

Ouch! I don't have that much money to spare right now. I hope I can get a copy on the future, even though I have 1st edition and all of the expansions and 2nd edition. i'm glad to see that the timer is back.

Just trying to find a post that I saw earlier on warseer that was to the tune of "Why are they doing this? X codex needs to be updated and I want plastic Y"! Bloody heathen.

Looking at some of the pictures in detail it does look like it is the original set and deathwing lumped in. Some of the missions may include a redux of the original 6 plus some of those that appeared in Deathwing and Spacehulk campaigns.

I can make out Ambush blips, disposal chutes, rooms and counters (powerfield generator, pitfalls/ladders) that appeared in deathwing.

I got my pre-order in already also.  I wanted to order 2 but the LGS is supposed to get me a copy also, I cannot say I have strong faith in them so I ordered from GW also.  I made the mistake of letting go of my 1st edition years ago so i'm glad to get a copy back.  Hopefully it is more like 1st than 2nd.

I've seen the nay-sayers already too; "What's the big deal about an old game?  I'd rather spend the money on new models for my army."

Good, more Space Hulk for me!  :p
