Glad you liked the film too Maksim, for once I was most pleasantly suprised by Hollywood!
Now that you mention it, the Paramedic is a combo Vicar/Artilleryman. I hadnt thought about that before, I was just grabbed by his "lets dig a tunnel" bit. You've seen the VSF film version more recently than me though.
I was a bit disappointed by the Thunderchilde scene.
| There wansnt one really, I dont count the ferry, though the underwater scenes were very well done
Gee those tripods were cool - cant wait for the Micromachiens to come out!
UUUUUULLLLLLLAAAAAAA

Off to sea in the morning, only for a week this time so will be back on line next weekend. I'll be doing that for the next 3 weeks, then away for 3 weeks straight before my 4 months at home - kewl!
Very best wishes to our Colonial Brothers in the other Hemisphere, enjoy your National Holiday on Jul 4 to celebrate your Independance Day (I hope no aliens drop in to ruin it for you...)
Ciao!

Saw WOTW tonight, liked it ! It may not be my favorite Sci-Fi movie, but it was very good ! It generally followed the book in a "broad brush" sort of way. And I won't spoil it for you, but it kind of validates my position on Titans, which is what the Tripods reminded me of !

Quote (dafrca @ 02 2005 July,04:40) | I was not looking forward to the movie when I first heard about it. But I have to admit I am hearing some good things about it.
dafrca | Same here. I had trepidations until the owner of my favorite hobby store saw it and he gave it a good review. He said it did a good job of following the book and that the special effects were awesome. I'm officially adding WotW to my "have to see this movie" list.

I found some cool pics of tripods: http://drzeus.poskanzer.org/wotw/wotw.html
And Ive never heard of this, wish I went there when I lived in UK. Any of our 'pom' friends been to Woking and seen this? http://www.flickr.com/photos/dgeezer/21 ... otostream/

Sounds like fun Tas ! And yes, I liked WOTW, especially when the Grunts from 10th Mtn, nailed a Tripod (ie, Titan !) with a couple of Javelin MAWs ! Like my IG, SMs, etc. do to Titans !

Some good stuff there Tas. I liked seeing how different people had different visions of the Martians.
