Well guys, the Tas Clan went to the karate grading this evening, worked up a big sweat and came home winners.
Meaghan and Reilly got their first grading to yellow belt, my wife got a double grading to green beltand I skipped 2 whole grades to blue belt. ?We worked up quite a sweat over 3 hrs to get them, though it as worth it in the end.
And yes for the eagle eyed of you, thats a painting of the Battle of Isandlawna (Zululand, 1879) on my lounge room wall

Thanks for the kind comments guys. We all started training in Feb for a bit of fitness and also for a fun family activity. We train twice a week together about 10 mins down the road which is convenient.
I did 3 years of Kung-Fu while I was at University (so some time ago now!), hence my more rapid escalation to blue belt. Its the kids I'm most proud of as they have worked very hard to get there. Meaghan will progress quickly if she wants to, I think Reilly will stay where he is for another 6-9 months at least.
Of course the kids' minor domestic situations now can tend to rapidlty escalate into a flurry of punches, sidekicks and finger strikes (and yes CC: Crane style kicks too!) so its lucky we parents can wade in and seperate them now!
Of course, its all just a cover story for my secret stormtrooper training camp...
