Hi Luis,

Yes, everything's kosher.

Sorry about the delay. I have two or three PMs that need to be replied to.

I'm stressing a bit about the Israel-Hezbollah War.

I hate the feeling that there's not much I can do.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Stay frosty, Maks. :D ?

We both had our time in service.

Now it's time to let a new generation perform. It's the harder thing to do.

Maksim,

The War will come to an end; they always do. You need to focus on your life and the things you need to do to make things better. To spend the energy focused on something you can not impact right now is a waste of energy.

I had heard the Custodian story a few times before. I have always loved that story. It is wonderful.

Hi CC and Dafrca,

Thanks for the words of support.

I really appreciate them in this time of war.

For what is worth, I wish you all the best and, while I have been (and still am) critical of some of the Israeli government's actions in the past, I'm fully convinced that blasting Hezbollah to kingdom come is not only fully justified but, above all, sensible and unavoidable.

Despite the fact that, as usual, the amount of pro-terrorist propaganda going on in the European media is ridiculous.

Thanks.

I don't think that Israel is perfect (noone is), but I can tell you that when you're under the magnifying glass as Israel has been for thirty plus years, you'll never look rosey no matter the many good things you do. Magnifying glasses focus on imperfections rather than strengths.

Israel treats Arabs better than they do in their own countries (Women vote, homosexuals are not persecuted, Bedouins and other Middle Eastern minorities are full memebrs of society, etc.). Almost noone recognizes Israel's charity work all over the world (Teaching farming in Africa, disaster relief, many peace programs, etc.).

I don't mind the criticsm of Israel, especially constructive criticism. I do mind the double standard that much of the world holds Israel to. If anyone ever really held Israel's neighbors to the same standard she is held to, Israel would instantly be declared a saint in comparison.

It's not just the Europeans. It's in the United States, Asia, the Arab States, the Muslim states and elsewhere.

The demonization of minority groups that preceded WWII in the 1930s is looking remarkably similar again.

And yet most minority advocacy groups like the NAACP are looking the other way.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

You are welcome.

One word of caution in general to everyone, I would avoid too much conversation about the politics as we all know how easy it seems to blow up and people get very passionate about their views etc.

Just my .02

I agree with both sentiments.

Firstly Maksim I hope that your family & friends are not directly affected by this.

And secondly although I may agree on a personal level with your comments, I share dafrca's concern that such contentious topics are best avoided on this forum.

Best wishes

James

Hi Guys,

With all respect, I will confine my non-hobby views to this thread. This is my place and noone needs to read it unless they want to.

On this thread, I am who I am. I write about who I am without needing to put parts of me in a closet or elsewhere.

For the folks who can't take that, DON'T READ THIS THREAD!

After several hundred posts, the only folks who read this thread any longer are those who can tolerate it and give a damn.

I won't be edged out of expressing myself on this SINGLE thread.

I respect you as a peacemaker Dafrca, but I need this one little place where I don't have to suppress part of who I am. I hold my tongue quite a bit, but this is the one place I don't need to do that.

Sorry to rant, but I needed to say my peace.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Fair enough Maksim. You are correct, you have a right to post what ever you wish.

As I am only interested in the game related subjects, and can not be sure of what OT subjects will be discussed, I will refrain from reading any more on this thread.

I have promised myself that in my new job I will try to make time and do same.

Cheers
