Hi Tas, studying astronomy with an Australian University has cured me of most northocentric attitudes - in fact, if it weren't for a contingent of Americans and a few other Europeans, I'd be learning astronomy the wrong way round - ooops! 
Seriously, Swinburne Univ. of Tech. is a great place and caters for all - ah - orientations? Pity its online, or I'd have come to games day.

I have a poster sized map of the world drawn Southern hemisphere up. I used to have it up in my cabin in the Royal Navy and it realy freaked people out!
Yes, Swinburne has a great rep for correspondance courses
