If you are looking around for rules, I have a number of sets that I can recommend.

Modern Spearhead is a respected rules set, with an interesting take of movement and control, but doesnt do it for me.

My personal favourite is Mein Panzer. I have first edition, but a second edition is due out shortly. There is a WWII suppliment book for this, which covers thirteen nations and runs to over 1000 pages of stats and information. For me, this is a dream. The mechanics are reasonably detailed, but not so much that they rely on pages of charts and table, and presented as 'modules' which allow you to drop in certain elements into the game or ignore certain aspects completely. It plays fairly quickly and works well.

For more detail, you could go for Panzer Marsch. This is a deceptively simple looking rule book (nice and glossy, professional looking) but keeps track of ammo types, etc.

For the ultra detailed, take a look at Panzer War. This is available for free download from the web site, but is seriously low level and complex.

I dont have much experience with more abstract sets, as I like a fair amount of detail in my rules.

Here is a webiste.

With Modern Sperahead a tank represents a platoon.  Yes there are deiiference between Tanks in terms of weapon and armor.

Each tank as an armor factor front and side and AT factor and a AI factor.  There are also rules for dealing with reactive armor and such.

APCS and Mechnized infabtry are one unit.  Usually based togethor and work as one.

I haven't played them extensively but I won them.

Lots of detail.

I wonder if it's still being made.

For miniatures be sure to check C-in-C out:

http://www.pfc-cinc.com

I found their minis to be almost as nice as GHQ at about 2/3 the cost.

This has been one helpful thread for sure :D

Anybody have any sites with pictures of navwar? I would like to see some comparisons between them and GHQ models before making my minds on company(C-C I'll check as well though I wouldn't say exactly 2/3 cost. 8.95$ for 5 or 6$ for 4 tanks. More like 80% of cost. Still. Cheaper of course).

You mean H&R? Navwar, technically, are the sea vessels (one manufacturer, many ranges). All that I have are my GHQ infantry, if that is any help:

This page may help. Bob is a legend in modern/historical 6mm circles. The rest of his site is here.

So "Navwar" modern models are actually H&R range? Alright...

As for your GHQ infantry pics: Further convinced that the GHQ products are good but doesn't really help to decide GHQ or Navwar. ATM all I know about Navwar is prices but no idea whatsoever what their tanks for example look like.

Well. I'll keep looking. Now that I know they are actually H&R models I might find some. No wonder all I found was ship related pages :-)

Panzer Marsch is a WWII ruleset. And the ammo tracking is something which has rubbed me off. I mean, a tank can hold what, a max of 6 shots??!! Are they saying the WWII crewmen were so incompetent that only one round in ten had a chance of hitting?  ???  :glare:

As for ordering GHQ I'd recommend doing it from inside of EU if at all possible (or else ordering small enough shipments); customs officials seem to have stepped up their efforts lately. And the system is beyond all logic and reason: they combine the item cost AND postage and then calculate VAT (and possible customs fee).

Wargamer Poland stocks the full GHQ range and there may be others. I have not ordered from them personally but they  had a good reputation in the late Warzone and Chronopia forums.

Argh. Sorry. I read this thread and thought 'WWII'. My notes above deal with WWII game.

For modern stuff, I recommend Fistful of TOWs. Third edition is being worked on right now and should be out in the second half of this year.

GHQ StugIII with whitewash snow camo. The detail in this cazsting is better than some 1/76 scale kits I've seen.  :p

I could swear you folks are working for GHQ  :p . They should hire you folks for their marketing departmen...

Heh heh. Still. Very, VERY good looking model...

(oh and that wargaming poland looks like nice source to get my hands on these. Gets actually cheaper than GHQ direct or the UK distributor. Add in free mail on suitably large order and no credit card absolutly required to order and hurah!)

Too bad my network started to buggy up again. Unbelievable. They fix it yesterday. Works for 2 hours and then most websites are unavailable. Then rest. Then connection goes out. Today came back. Worked for hour. Then problems resurfaced AGAIN. This forum is last page I can access anymore...Guess that goes off soon as well.

Unbelievable company...

As mentioned before there is a catch with GHQ.  You will be bending barrels back many times.

I highly recemmend basing the minis so as to avoid icking then up by the turrets.

Especially modern APCs like the bradly.

you can aslo look here for other painted examples

Hmm...Anybody have any experience on how long it takes for them to reply on email queries?

Albeit weekend was between but thursday, friday, monday, tuesday. I would have thought they might have been able to reply by now.

Maybe I'm just too impatient but still curious.
