I just wanted to add my views here, so that it was clear that I was not dodging the issue.
Firstly, thanks for all those who reported it. I had several PMs. I am always happy to get this kind of report on a thread or post, since I cant physically look at every new post every day (and I guess that I should be pleased that traffic hits those levels here).
Secondly, I think that there is a line dividing rememberance and political discussion. Posts which mourn loss or disaster should be OK, but when they begin to discuss the implications or background then things can become heated.
Generally, I would be surprised if anyone was offended that a board member remembered the loss of life from any nationality, but offence derived from political viewpoint is more likely.
If this is not clear, or if anyone feels that this is in some way imposing a 'double standard' on the types of political posts admitted here, then please feel free to PM and we can discuss it.
Thanks.
