:D  I would not necessarily start getting jealous of the treatment that BFG is getting right now. Sure, we may get a new rule book, but it is essentially a reprint with the FAQs thrown in. In terms of suppliments and minis, Epic has been the golden child in comparrison.

But BFG atleast has all the major races released already. So you are waiting for VARIANT models for Imperial fleet. Epic is waiting for core armies like chaos and tyranids to appear(and we won't be ever getting them).

Look here

The BFG core rule book is getting a reprint, with FAQs integrated! So, actual paper is possible! ????

Lol. BFG gets new updated book(even if just FAQs added) while epic gets no more printed supplements and release of chaos(not to mention tyranids) range is in big doubt.

Do they roll on a dice who gets best treatment since it seems they can afford to give few games better support than rest...

No, they have one person working on all the games in rotation, and Epic just had its turn with the release of Feral Orks (yeah I know, Chaos would have been better, but Feral Orks were put in the queue first).

At least postpone the pesimism until February, by which time we should know whether Chaos is turning up.

What is the point in complaining about the slow release rate?  What is it going to achieve?  Apart from putting off new players, that is.  We can all see that the Epic range has holes in it.  No-one's going to be considered a genius for pointing it out.

I agree with Bombot, complaining will scare away players looking at SG games to try.

And since they failed to release them in time in autumn 2006 why should I believe they release them in february either?

Well if you really want some grounds for optimism then there's the rumour that Andy Hall has been looking into the availability of the Chaos sprues.  In the fast moving world of Specialist Games, that counts as progress.

Lol! Rumours. And we all know worth of those.

GW wants epic(and other SG games) dead so frankly I don't see any reason to believe they would actually allow epic chaos to be released. I'm sure if it was up to SG chaos and tyranids would get released next month. Thing is they aren't in charge of GW...

They don't roll dice.  All managers have a spinner that tells them what to do. I'm surprised that theirs has useful stuff on it rather than the usual
hide
Yell
reorganise
ect

As I say, all complaining achieves is putting off new players.  The less new players, the less people buy minis, the more chance Epic gets completely axed.

Capiche?

I've found that it's actually very easy to get people interested in Epic.

Yesterday evening I took my army down to a GW store I'm unfamiliar with to give an introductory lesson to a GW staff member (lol). I ended up teaching 4 different people the game, several of whom are now going to buy armies. One of the kids who was watching the games asked me;

"This is so cool! Why isn't it a core game?!"

When it's already axed that's least thing to worry.

And if you want to draw new players to epic you should be atleast be honest with them: Official support for Epic is zero so if you aren't willing to play around with just fan support available epic is not good choise. Official support dried up long time ago.

Of course this leaves fan support and if that's enough then epic is great game to start. Of course if you want chaos/tyranid armies you have to either buy used models or convert your own as you'll never will get official new models for them.

Oh no doubt. Epic is growing up in Finland nicely with new players getting involved all the time. However if they ask when they can get chaos/tyranids honest answer should be: "Unless GW makes 180 turn around never. So start looking ebay as that's going to be fastest(and only) source of models for them".

Great game, great fan support, zero official support.

I prefer to think of it in that Epic official support is in a 'serious, but stable' condition. We are not bogged down by continuous, conflicting rules sets and your minis will not be made redundant or out of date in six months! The game that you buy is the game that you get and there are unlikely to be any surprises or reason to change the way that your force works. :D

Well, you have to keep cheerful!

Lol. Since there aren't going to be any minis to be MADE reduntant that's easy enough.

However I would prefer having minis made reduntant if atleast that would mean I would have been able to get chaos models at some point. Who forces me to abandon old models anyway? Nobody can do that.

I agree entirely.  I tend to see a lot of positives in not having GW want to change the rules just to make some other unit flavour of the month.  Hey, more players would be good, but that's where it's our job to spread the word, rather than complain about the current state of affairs.  Yeah, I wouldn't say to someone that Chaos is definitely coming out in February but I wouldn't say that there's no way they're coming out either.

GW will keep SG so long as they keep selling models.  Pfft, I mean what are the additional overheads?  Andy Hall's wages and some server space, and that's about it.
