I'll start this with th caveat that I stopped playing Modern Naval combat games because I got annoyed when they werent totally realistic or accurate

Haropoon is great for detail

Shipwreck is most fun and while it is abstracted a lot, it actually feels more realistic and flows better.  I sbmitted a LOT of data for that game and helped write the supplement RIMPAC as well

I havent seen TANKWRECK though and would be interested in more detail on that one

Finally we decided to ditch it all. We have taken the BFG system, abstracted from it, introduced 2 pages in word format for house rules and created the ships from scratch using BFG rules. We will see how they play. If they play OK enough for us, I think we will settle for it. If not, we will try shipwreck. Basically, we vwant something that can pass for realism, but don't give a damn about complete accuracy. If not, I dunno why the hell we are playing (mostly) games set in fantasy and sci-fi environments :p

Thanks to everybody :)

On the issue of Shipwreck, Tas, would you mind giving us a shot on the mechanics? Does it play well for actions of up to 20 ships per side? Thanks! :)

Xavi

Hi Mojarn,

------

MSH: 1 model = 1 platoon

MSH Gameplay: company ro abttalion maneauver

------

TANKWRECK: 1 model - 1 vehicle or infantry squad

TANKWRECK Gameplay: individual vehicle or infantry squad

VERY DIFFERENT!
