Australia: Cheap Beer, but the petrol (gas) is getting a bit pricey these days. ?Still lots cheaper thjan UK though.

Heaps of Italians and Greeks here in our multi-cultural society. ?In fact I live in the heart of "Little Italy" which means heaps of great food, gelati after work, and my daughter is a reasonably fluent Italian speaker at 8.

Of course we cant let all of you come here, but you are welcome to visit!

Good Luck Magnus! :)

Heresiarch: Canada would probably be my first choice if I had any say. I love it... at least judging from afar :)

If you want what passes for my opinion on anything here in Canada Magnus feel free to drop me a PM.

I may not be able to answer but I could probably point you to someone or somewhere that could.

New Zealand: Strong economy at present and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the western world. Only 4 million population... cheap beer and living costs  :D   Agriculture, tourism and tech are what the economy is built around. You wouldn't get as much money here as elsewhere but the lifestyle is nice. I'm not sure what the work permit situation is - and anyway it is an election issue at present so it might change in a couple of months - ie if you have a job lined up you're in, if not then you're not.

Anyway all the best with your search Magnus!

Markconz, sounds great! :D I might even be tempted.....:D :D
Don't get me wrong, I like Malta, in spite of my million and one complaints, but it does have one very negative mark - overpopulation! Wer'e all on top of each other on this rock here. :(

Yes low population is a definite plus in my book :)

Surprisingly, I have never had trouble finding wargaming opponents either... many of my kiwi opponents from my younger days seem to be overseas now, but they have been replaced by newly arrived poms, yanks, boks etc.

he he - good to see a NZ PM with humour.  They dont have anything else (policies, integrity, foreign relations....) but at least a laugh :p

Actually Mojarn, its more your Big Brother/Little Sister type of relationship.  They're family and all, so you stick up for eachother and god help outsiders who push in between, but you know....those little sisters can be SO annoying at times :D

Hey no worries, I'm annoyed at my country's situation but not SO MUCH annoyed to have lost my sense of humour.

In other news, this morning I was asked for an interview... unfortunately it's another italian company  :L

Must really get my lazy butt off and update my english resume...      :p

I have to admit, it is hard to seriously consider leaving everything behind. But I happen to be pretty certain of my analisys, and the consequences are easy to foresee. We italians have a knack for getting out of tight spots we put ourselves into, but luck is going to run out....

Hi Magnus, well at least if your professional skils are half as good as your English, you've got no worries at all. :D
Touche' for the cost of buying a flat. How does the cost of living compare?
And I agree, leaving your country can be sad.
