Well the parcel would have been delivered yesterday, if I had been home to sign for, but as I was at work I had to wait until this morning to head down to the post office sorting office. Quick delivery indeed.
Box was nicely packaged with solid cardboard box surrounded by bubble wrap and then covered in thick brown paper. Even more bubble wrap inside with the FW Baneblades wrapped up in a 3rd layer of bubblewrap. This guy know how to pack our precious toys!!!
First pleasant surprise. More of the tanks were in dull brown colour than I had realised, so less of the desert yellow tanks would need to be paint stripped than I had originally thought from looking at the digi pics that the seller had kindly sent me. That would make it less of an effort to get the whole force with a consistent look. Cool!
Second pleasant surprise. He had listed the auction as having 2 bags of titan parts, one mainly plastic and the other metal. Well the bag of plastic parts had a whole load of the old beatleback weapons which I used to have until they got lost in previous move- excellent for conversions!
Third stunning surprise- the bag listed as containing metal titan parts contained no less than 3 complete Reavers!!! S-w-e-e-t!! Although I do prefer the look of the Forgeworld Lucius Pattern Reavers, 3 complete Reaver titans (with a good mix of metal weapons) is nothing to be sneezed at. Total bonus. Quick count up of the tanks and infantry got me to 4,400 points of Steel Legion goodness. I want to get some Voss Pattern Sentinels and possibly some Deathstrikes/Bombards but a good start to an army.
In between this army and some matching Battlefleet Armageddon ships, I have my painting plan sorted out for the New Year.
Still doing the happy dance!! Cheers
James

Yeah, there's one of the old Warlord boxes around on Ebay. Judging by the attention it's gathering, though, I doubt the final price will be anywhere near anything sane....
