Hi!
I was quite addicted to multiplayer for a while, but it got repetitive too...
...I agree a COOP mode would have rocked.

COOperative Play...you play through the single player game with a buddy or two...It rocks! Perfect for me, what with my 2 computers networked together.

Hi!
Thats one thing that original DOOM has over the current version. While competative play is fun, nothing beats cleaning out a level with a friend as backup!

Oh, btw, if any of you are fans of scary first person shooters, I highly recommend an older game called System Shock 2. The graphics are dated by todays standards, but the storyline is one of the best ever! And just as scary as Doom, one of the only other games that has made me jump out of my seat!

Yeah, it has more of a roleplaying feel than a straight FPS, in that you have an inventory, skills, and stats. The same type of engine, modified somewhat, was used in the first Deus Ex game, if you played that. Also a winner, but not quite as scary. A true classic that I still have on my hard drive.
