Heh, I've worked on those things. I did a summer internship at a mining company, and those things would scoop up coal or iron ore from stockpiles and put it on conveyor belts to the waiting ships. They had 4 of them, on rails between the stockpiles. I got to poke around in the control rooms, and it was a sobering thought to see electronics in there that were older than I was. One of our jobs was to upgrade the control systems; we removed huge closets full of relays and replaced them with control systems the size of a small safe.
