*Enter Monty Python mode*
"Yes, We are all individuals!"
Seriously though. I began to part with regular GW fluff arround the time of the Nid's introduction to the 40k universe (TL days). Not that they weren't visually appealing but it just seems a bit silly to have an army which does the same thing Chaos and Orks are allready good at. Same thing with more recent additions like Necrons and (urgh) TAU. ...Call me ignorant, but I just don't get it...
Cheers!

I do like all the new races. It's a big galaxy, the more the merrier ! Or the more targets to service ...

I will not call you ignorant, but I will explain it in the simplist terms:
It sells cool looking minis. ?
The bottom line is, GW does not care if the fluff for a new race makes sense. They care if they can make some cool looking minis so the fan boys will pay $30 for a single mini that cost them a whole $3 to make. So repackage the Eldar in Anime style armor and call them Tau $Cha-ching$, put the Genesteelers into another army and give them some cool looking buddies to join in $Cha-ching$, kill off races and models that do not cause the $$ to cha-ching, no problem.
Seems simple to me. It is all about the money. ?

Dafrca,
Are you saying that GW is on a $Cha-ching$ Waaarrg?
My personal $Cha-ching$ Waaarrg is on poor feet right now. I need more $Cha-ching$.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

That's a very interesting loop...
we need more $cha-ching$ in order to give GW more $cha-ching$ in order to rival Primarch who has to acquire a million points....

And is a sound commnet. After all GW is a company that wants to make a profit. No big secret about that. What surprises me is not GW attitude or policies since they are good from a company that wants the $cha-ching$ stuff to happen, but the fact that people swallow the fluff whole without much problems. The fact that fans mostly accept such dramatic changes without massive realignements seems weird. This community is a little bit a weirdo in the general system, with the netepic project et al, which is great but in general, people do that. Except for the squats. That is something GW will never be found inoocent for

Quote (Xavi @ 02 2004 Sep.,09:44) | Except for the squats..... | I have always found the Squat issue funny. I mean, based on sales it was the least bought line. Based on other indicators such as armies used in tournaments, it was the least played. But clearly they had a loyal following.
The amount of noise given to the squats and their demise seems to be much greater then the number of people who seemed to be buying, supporting, and playing Squats.
But, as it is a band wagon I like being on...
Long Live the Squats!

Hi!
The squats in 40k were a bad seller, while some wax nostalgic about them, I retailed in those days and they were awful seller.
In stark contrast epic squats were a viable seller. I would have thought GW just keep the squats in epic, they did alright in that system.

Just a thought.
