I guess there is a valid reason why you are using graphics for text rather than text itself.
THe main advantage of text is that it downloads much faster than a graphic.

You're definitely right about the accessability issue. If changes has to be made it is a lot of work. I know virtually nothing about html coding so getting the right type of text and placing it correctly on the page is going to be tricky. In time it is probably a better solution though. I'm still learning as I go so hopefully there's going to be some more advanced features on the site in the future.
Thanks for the feedback guys. During the holidays I plan to get at least one page up every other day so hopefully the entire site will be more or less ready by mid august when I start in school again.
Cheers!

There is a bunch of tutorials on how to code in HTML. The basics are really quick to learn, and when you get the hang of it it gets even kinda fun.
Oh, and I'd advise you to use frames, if you aren't doing this already. Border can be removed by a simple code option, while the overall result is speeding up of the navigation speed and naturally lowering bandwidth usage.
I again recommend you to code all the stuff on your home PC and use local URLS so it can be uploaded on the server and still work without problems.
Maybe that's just me, but I prefer to have the site working as perfectly as if it was a swiss watch before launching it...
Oh, yeah, now I got a "job" to code a small site for a political party's local division. They rely on volunteers since their funding was drastically reduced, but in exchange I get some free web access. Good trade, IMHO.

no no no
never use frames
they are terrible and create real issues in terms of accessibilty, linking to pages, search engine problems...
there are real alternatives in creating common page elements such as templates, SSI, etc...

Personally I dislike frames- they often don't fit with the resolution of certain pages on some PCs- pushing bits off the screen, leaving links unreachable due to lack of scrollbars, etc, etc... A site I was on a few weeks ago even opened links inside one of the frames for some bizarre reason...

The best option I have found is to create the page as a table, no need for frames, use the INCLUDE statement to save you having to dynamically generate content, then have a header file to include and a footer file to include.
Dead simple, search engine friendly and snazzy.

Thats the style (tables) I went for with the Mercenary brush site & it seems to have worked. May have more than a little to do with the fact that my main input was from the guys on here of course, but I've certainly been happy with the system

You are welcome to some source code from the EPICentre, as long as you promise never to use it to benefit Mariah Carey...
