Thanks guys. All much appreciated
Had a good day, but the celebrations are delayed this year. Its become traditional for me to host a big BBQ each year. Started with my 18th so this will be the 5th year running! However, I now delay it until all my mates are back from Uni so this year that wont be happening until July 3rd! Still, have something to look forward to - its always a great night!
Worked all day, then a quick pub visit for "comapny drinks" & Home to a great meal (thanks to my G'ma, Mum & the local Chinky for a great selection of favoured dishes!). Out tomorrow with some mates, but as said, real celebrations are delayed for a month!
Tom: Helen is at Uni still doing Finals so such appropriate gifts also come under the "to look forward to" heading .
CDs are always an Ecclectic Mix with me & someof these I'm not too sure of myself yet: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Essential Collection John Mayer - Heavier Things Damien Rice - O Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand Howard Tate - Rediscovered Scissor Sisters Libertines Off the top of my head, but I think I've missed some & I also got a decent stash to add to the CD fund
As for minis - none of those this year! Have rather too many of those already & when painting becomes your job, you become somewhat immune to their "oohh Shiny" special ability. ?(Having said that, I am still wating on West Wind to deliver on a pre-order I paid cash for at Salute & also some of Hassle Free Miniature's new Orientals, but they're coming in "under the radar" so I hope nobody reads that....... )
Once again, thanks all!

L4, In the UK, as it isn't always as nice as the weather in the US, or down under, the slightest bit of sunshine, and all the BBQ's come out!
Cheers
Chris

@L4: At the moment we are having a barbecue every sunday, unless majorly hungover when a curry is needed to stabalise the stomach.
Barbecues are essential, even if everyone is in huge jackets to keep out the cold!

...and has umbrellas out to keep the rain off the coals.
The other thing the Aussie way of having a BBQ is different to the UK way of having a barbecue.
The Aussies IIRC don't use grills but use flat metal plates. This means unlike the UK where all the fat from the cheap burgers immediately creates huge flames which charcoal the food on the outside but leave it raw in the middle , the Aussies can ensure that there food is cooked properly.
Don't know about the US.
Sad yet funny story from the south-west, a couple were camping and used a disposable BBQ, once they finished cooking they took into their tent to keep themselves warm. They were found dead the next day from carbon monoxide poisoning.... there's a lesson for us all.

Wow ! BBQ info abounds ! Here in the US we grill on gas or charcoal burners and mine is on my front patio about 15 feet away from where I'm sitting now ! Burgers, Dawgs, Chicken, etc., etc., it's all good ! It's about 80 degrees F here ... time to turn on the A/C !!!
