Hi!

Yup, GW is all those things, but that makes them predictable and thus easily dealt with..... :;):

Hi!

There is a group of employee's (I think) that are trying to negotitate buying the IP rights and thus try to revive the line.

IMO, its a bad move, stores are in "dump" mode. The line has been given the "kiss of death", buying the IP may just bankrupt the buyer.

Sometimes things die and will stay that way....

They would probably be better off to buy the rights, rename the products, and open under a new name. :(

Hi!

If you did that, you might be better off jst starting your own game from scratch, free of stigma.

The gaming busines is ruthless and without pity for errors and failure. That's why so many go under.

This is from Ben Brownlie on MiniForums.  For those who don't know, he
is one of the people who worked on the new rulebook and had been
working on other projects with I-Kore for Void.

"John has just called and he will make an official statement later, but
in the meantime he says that although i-Kore can not remain as a
company the trademark still exists. Mr Colin McCullogh has won the
auction outright. Pete Flannery is not involved at all and John
Robertson and John Grant will be employees of Mr McCullogh's company,
Urban Mammoth. JG, JR and at least six other recongnised names in the
industry have come together to form a strategic partnership under the
umbrella of the Urban Mammoth group. there is a stack load of stuff
going on that has been developing behind the scenes over the last
fortnight all of which depended on the outcome of today's meetings

all of this is form the horses mouth, but obviously i do not have
access to everything that is going on nor the authority to repeat
everything i was told. but John should be able to expand on this later
this evening"

Ben in reply to a question about the molds:
"@Erion - no, the moulds are owned elsewhere. the master moulds are
owned by the poeple who were employed to make them and the production
moulds all by scotia micro models. i do not know whether these have
been purchased too. today was just about the ip and stock plus the
assorted equipment from the office and warehouse"

and

"@Erion - the moulds are no good without the IP. so whoever has the
moulds has a bunch of stuff they can't use without permission. my guess
is that the production moulds and the master's for the reson models
will come into the cooperative anyhow as there is a long running
connection between the guys at Scotia and the Johns, and i presume that
the links with the other master mould maker remain intact (that is a
guess tho)

as for stock? i dunno who much of what was there but my understanding
is that that was also part of today's negotiations"

Looks like a good sign.  I hope things keep moving in a positive direction.

However, I agree with Primarch, looks unlikely that I will be able to offload my stock even with a 30% discount, however, it does mean that I have got myself a collection of armies for a FANTASTIC game system at trade.... I am not too concerned...

Hi!

These guys should have kept thier money, retailers have lost faith and are dumping stock. You almost can't give it away.

In the gaming world you aren't allowed mistakes......

What a real shame,  I-kore produced some of the best mini's I've got in my vast armies... :(

Let's just hope they can keep trading. :{

Hi!

I have no doubt they will continue to sell it, but will retailers support it?

Only time will tell.
