The Australian pre order lasted less than 5hrs before becoming unavailable.

Um

I was just able to place in a pre-order @ 11pm

Are you sure about that?

Dammit... forgot about that.

I just spend £60 to get repeatedly humiliated :D.

Still, at least there is still beer in this world to soften the blow.

I have been sad for years because I did not buy Space Hulk when I had a chance long time ago. But now I did! (I do have Space Crusade as consolitation prize thought)

I have to say, this is BEST thing GW has done in years.

EDIT: Guess who is going to paint squad of GOLDEN Grey Knights!?

I looked down on myself as I went through the pre-order for this, shouting that I already have four copies of first edition, both expansions and second edition and I really dont need third edition as well, and why was I pre-ordering a game I know very little about on the first day of release. But, it was no good. I have my copy ordered!  ???  I kept thinking that I was more likely to get people to play this than most games, and the rules were originally pretty good, and the minis look awesome....

*sigh*

Certainly FFG are better performers in the board game market than GW ever was.  And I'm sure they'd pay an absolute BOMB in licensing and royalties for it.

I beg to differ. When GW make boardgames they make very good ones. Space Hulk isn't a boardgame per see. Games as Blood Royal are.    8v)

Reading through the various forums (warseer, bols, etc) it's quite an eye opener reading people's reactions to the game:

"Blood Angel Terminators! But I can't use them with X chapter. The box is useless to me"
"No proper bases, I can't use this in 40K - ripoff!"
"I don't play stealers or marines so I won't be getting this"
"If I get this, I'll have to start a stealer/blood angel army"

Seems people are having a hard time getting around the fact that this doesn't need or require 40k to play or are upset they can't use it to boost their 40k armies. Expectations have changed it seems.

That, or its just warseer being populated by morons

Just ordered my copy, given that i was only 5 years old or so when space hulk came out ive eagerly been awaiting any chance to get a complete set (ive got an old only half complete set off a boot-sale, not the same though). Id say the price is too high, should be £50 not £60 imo - considering figure contents etc compared to the current starter sets although it is inline with other large boardgames like twilight imperium. But given the price of a mint box on ebay its probably worth it anyway.

Its a shame the rumours of moulded plastic corridor sections from a while back seem not to have been true.

Now if they could just re-release warhammer quest as well...

Then it would be quite very expensive!

But then again, I would have bought it anyway...

I dont have Blood Angels, and that is great reason to make some. What kind is Space Hulk base?

What kind is Space Hulk base?

Looks like its just a thin bit of plastic between the feet. should stick onto round bases easily.

Also is it just me or has the GW site just gone down?

Edit: yep it seems to have done, 100% packet loss to 209.135.50.170.

Edit again: oh ok the sites back now ???

The terminators look great. And the tiles and counters should be fairly hard wearing. But the price? £60 is beyond my price range for the moment.

I am also annoyed by the way that GW claimed this was something they had never done before. It seemd expressly designed to counteract speculation that this was Space Hulk. The fact that it is limited release is even more irritating.

Cheers

James
