What a coincidence. Creatures like that have been reconning my yard too! 
Occasionally in winter a few bold deer will come right up to my house to snack on some bushes.

See, they are running a Recon just like in the Movie "Signs", but it will be called "Hooves"  Yes, my sister and I are going try a leave some food back there. The woodline is only 50ft or so from my back door. I put some pumpkins left over from Halloween one year and they seemed to like them. With my current job (private investigations), I've become pretty good with taking "candid" pics, Van ! With the recent snow fall, (4-6 inches Justin !), which isn't rare for NE US (as D/S Markco noted), these critters were looking for chow ! One morning they were in my front yard. (My Dog was going crazy !) And I live in the 'Burbs ! Rows of houses, 15-20ft apart. They walk between the houses. Good place for Claymores, Tas ! I'm fortunate to have small woods in my backyard, only about 100 yds wide. (Where I learned dismounted patrolling as a youth, before I joined the Army !) But our entire housing complex and the surrounding area was built in the middle of woodlands. Still known as the Western Reserve since the American Revolution. Mentioned in the movie "The Patriot". So I guess you are right, O-man, they are native and don't need green cards ! But Deer-a-nids was my first thought too, Wombat ! I'd hope they don't have "Bear Support" Justin. Those guys would come right thru door and eat my Dog and head for the 'Fridge ! Bears are seen a little further East, but they could commute and take the Bus !! Well thanks for all the good comments Boyz, thought it was a unique enough event to post, since the pics are seen all over the world. But if the Little Gray Aliens land in my backyard again, I post pics of those too !

I haven't personally seen it, but there is a brown bear that visits my neighborhood periodically. I own about an acre of land, the back half of which is woods. Trees are only about 25 feet from my house. I get all sorts of wildlife in my yard. Aside from the usual chipmunks, squirrels, raccoons and skunks, I've seen a fox, pheasants and turkeys. There's also reports of a coyote in the area.

Yep, I've seen some of those critters too. But no bears or Coyotes ! I'm hoping for Big Foot to stop by, but this is usually too far East for him !

It seems you have a proper winter there. We _used_ to have that, too.  As for woods, well, this is Finland so there's woods everywhere except in the middle of Helsinki.
