Battle for Armageddon keeps popping up all over GW servers...
it's been available here for some time now. The Chaos expansion for it is there too. Not sure why SG hasn't got that one - still, maybe that'll be next month's 'big news'!

They did it quite openly.  Either the ruelbook or the designer's notes invited players to work out which three RW campaigns it was based on.

Presumably Hitler's invasions of France and Russia for two.

Awesome game though, very tough for the imperials until the marines show up.

I guess this pretty much negates any value the original game had if I was going to sell it, huh?

A buddy of mine asked me to slee/trade on his behalf a bunch of stuff, including a very good condition copy of this game.  Oh well...

Still worth it, as most people don't have the ability to print onto thick card.  Maybe having the online rules will spark interest in the "real thing" you're selling.

Am I the only one who looks at the map for this and thinks to myself 'You know, I could use this to do a wicked map-campaign for Epic!'  :laugh:

I think it would still be valuable. Printing it out and sticking it on card was a complete nightmare... very labour intensive. I'd definitely be prepared to pay the price if I'd known about it earlier.

They did? Woohooo!!!! I hope Man O'War is next.  :cool:  Of course, I have Man O'Warl and both supplements (please don't as how much I paid for them in ebay  :blush: ) but I bet many would love to get a look at it.

An option in the game is to use the regular BfA rules for movement, building etc, and actually fight the battles (at least the major ones) ?using Epic or WH40k rules & miniatures on a seperate battlefield. ?The size of forces on each side is indirectly linked to the value of the BfA counters in the fight, and the outcome of the battle is then re-translated into BfA.

Needless to say this makes for a long BfA game, but gives all your Epic/WH40k sub-games a real "purpose".
