Hey all, what kind of experiance have you had with Bartertown?
I would like to know what you think as either a buyer or seller.

Hi!
Bartertown as a service is good, but thats not either here or there, its the people you deal with that make the difference. Get a responsible person and things are swell, get a sleeze ball and things are not well.
The best thing to do is to get references and only deal with people who take an electronic method of payment so as to have a record of the transaction. Baring that COD. Anything else puts you at risk.

Yes, I've been both buyer and more often seller. I've always had a positive experience. And I have used PayPals (my preference), money order, check and even cash ! If you can, check his references on the site. I have a number of them posted. I still have some items up for sale there now.

Thanks guys. I was curious because I posted some stuff and so far have had at least five different people show interest in something (not all the same item), ask prices, say they were interested and then once I sent an email with an address to send the money or a paypal name they change their minds or drop out. Very frustrating.
I have bought on Bartertown three times and each was a plesant experiance. Maybe it is just timing or something.

That does happen ... they change their minds and leave you hanging !  But that is usually rare ...
