Alright I expect some of you to remember me from the EpicA playtesting days. . . aka Knowlton. Anyway, I happened to sell nealhunt an epic mini on Ebay a few weeks ago and it brought back a flood of memories. I've been out of gaming since around the time you last heard from me, and since then sold off most of my games (I had a lot). Still have everything from GW's Golden Years (SM2/TL), 40k 2nd, Warhammer Quest, Man O War, etc), but even parted ways with Adeptus Titanicus if you can believe that.

Anyway, just spent some time looking up stuff on GW and Warseer, and kinda disappointed. Epic appears to be dead, as with all the Fanatic games. Kinda disappointed with the whole gaming industry as a matter of fact. Nothing exciting and new it seems, although 40k is looking killer finally getting an Ork Gargant. But my days are done. Good times though. Walked into a hobby store a month ago and found a massive battle of Epic going on and blurted out, "which version are you playing?" They replied "the first" but when I looked I could see it was SM2/TL, to which I replied, "No, this is the second, AT/SM was the first." They looked like they didn't know what I was talking about and I was like, "dude I am Mr. Epic." Or at least was. I didn't really get the desire to exchange info, gather up some old minis, and play a game for old-times sake, but it was amazing to see a good old fashion game of Epic going on (while everyone else around was playing WFB and 40k). So after not even thinking Epic in like 2 years, first neal then seeing that game.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

Who picked these forum colors? Were they color blind?

I've been playing since AT, also. Guess that makes me an old-timer, too.  :vD

Epic might seem dead if you go by what GW is doing. Fortunately it's still alive and kicking around here.

Welcome back.  And you suck for abandoning us.

Heh.  Actually, that's almost the case.  It wasn't so much this was picked as the prior color scheme was rejected.  It was green/red/orange and it was like reading Ishihara colorblindness tests.

Edit - stupid link

Well Epic is getting a bit of publicity at GW HQ.

Otherwise I can't agree about the industry as a whole, yes the 'Golden Age' of a club in every garage (which I think was the 80's and early 90's, though some may disagree) has passed, but in terms of releases its never been better and rules set are vastly better than they were a decade ago. I don't know how long wargaming has left but as long as there's a club within easy travelling distance (and a few tourneys and shows through the year) when I'm in a civilised country I'm happy.

:vD  That would be me! The previous colours were blue and orange, but that was just too bright for me. These have been around long enough to be 'established' now, and I find them easy to read. Besides... I dont know of any other site in the same colours!  :p

Good to hear from you again.
