Hi, I'm seeking info on what type and size drill bit I need to make holes in bases for my troops, I don't want to drill straight through but make a shallow flat-bottom hole like the epic 40k bases. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Look at the Dremel 196 or 116 high speed cutters. They are 7/32 and 1/4" cutters, which is the diameter you'll want. I've drilled through bases with a 1/4" drill bit and epic figs fit perfect.
