I managed to grab the Fleet Action 2: Turning Point rules before AoG folded. Apart from several more-than-typical background gliches the game, including the background, looked really promising.
Question is: are there any rumors floating about the net about this game? Has anybody bought the rights?

Hi!
I don't think anyone will since the license for it was taken away. It costs a lot to obtain such a license and i doubt any fledgling company who interests it will have enough money at the getgo to pay for it.
Barring a miracle its pretty much dead.
How's the game though?

It was the licence for Babylon 5 products, which was taken away. Turning Point was a completely new setting and had nothing to do with B5. The background is that the world is divided into 5 superpowers who bicker and war among each other in typical human fashion for the resources of the solar system.

Not bad, although it being hex-based limits its usefulness somewhat; the fire and turning arcs would be a pain to do in a non-hex tabletop. It uses revised fleet action rules, but since I don't own the B5 fleet action I don't know what has been changed.
The rules are fairly detailed. A turn is broken into several phases while the action phase is further subdivided into 3 pulses. Ships move and fire in each pulse.
The best part IMO are very detailed custom building rules, which in fact are the original reason I bought the game. I decided to see whether I could get myself Battlefleet Action.
