Quote (primarch @ 26 2003 Aug.,22:51) | How does the mac handle the upscale 3-d graphics cards? Does it have the expanded AGP slots required for the "longer" high end cards? | You don't really add components to a Mac in the same way you would a PC.

This page gives you more information on the graphic capability of the new G5s which looks okay!
My G4 Powerbook alas only has 16Mb of video memory (but then again it is now two years old).
I think the only real reason I have not ventured into Mac's is the "software" issue, were somtimes games and software releases lag behind those for PC's. I think if this hurdle is overcome by Mac's they may truely give PC's a run for the money.

I have to admit that I don't really play computer games I use the Mac in the main for graphics and video editing. Whereas my PC is used for e-mail, internet and office applications.

Hi!
I dont play much games recently either so thats why I have looked at Mac's again as an interesting alternative, but it does bug me if I want a game (I may pick up one title per year nowadays), I'd like to get it quickly and not wait. Then again I usually like very popular titles like Half-life and Doom (both have upcoming releases) so they may have a simultaneous release.
Its too bad you can add those high end video cards to the Mac's, the video resolution and handling of those recent titles with such cards is truely amazing. Then again, as always with computers, it all depends what you use it for.
