I was looking through some old posts when I decided to ressurect this post about the Dark Eldar. It was one of Gandalf's first posts and is well worth reposting.

Hi guys,
I don't mean to change the topic in here, but this is the first post for Epic-40k I have seen in here, and I still play it.
I was wondering if anyone had put together a prototype Dark Eldar Army list. I love the Dark Eldar in 40k, and have always been disppointed that I didn't have them in Epic. I'll post pics of what I have done soon, but here is a description on how I am making the stands/models:
Dark Eldar Lord: - I took an Eldar Warlock, cut off his right arm, and stuck an Ork Nob powerfist on it and posed it in the way the Dark Eldar looks in 40k. I also added a cape by trimming off the cape from a Tzeentch Disc Rider, sanded it down, and set it so it draped over his back. I made four Incubi by using Valahla Imperial Guardsmen bodies, added Swooping Hawk heads, and sticking the blade from Ork Boyz models at the end of the gun to make their (Oh, I forgot their name...).
Dark Eldar Warriors: - I used the Eldar Guardian minis from Epic Space Marine, the ones with Lasguns, since they looked a little bit like Splinter Cannons. An Eldar Guardian carring a lascannon over his shoulder looked a bit like a Dark Lances so there is my heavy weapon for the stand. I didn't bother adding spikes and what not, and they look pretty good and enough different from the newer Eldar Guardians.
Dark Eldar Scourges: - Here I used 3 Eldar Swooping Hawks and 2 Eldar Exarchs, which makes the stand look like I've got 3 Scourges with Splinter rifles and 2 with Heavy Weapons. I know that their wings aren't the same, but you know right away what they are.
Wyches: - Mostly Eldar Harlequin models with a customized Banshee here and there to represent a Succubi.
Reaver Jetbikes: - Pretty much Eldar Jetbikes.
Talos: - This is going to take some work, but I am using the Eldar Vibro Cannon as a base and will scratchbuild the rest. ?I am shooting for three of them.
Raiders: - There is now way I am building these from scratch, so I'll probably use the old Falcons. Who can't argue that Eldar pirates wouldn't use captured Eldar equipment...

That's it so far. I have been customizing all sorts of miniatures lately.
- My favorite is a Tzeentch Command Stand with Thousand Sons heads, as well as a few stands of Screamers using the Tzeentch Disc Riders without the riders, mounted on three per stand.
- By the way, I use Warmaster stands for bikes, calvary, etc. and they look great. ?
What do you think about the Epic-40k rules?
See ya.
