I actually prefer the pre-heresy style models for the Land Raider and the Whirlwinds, though the new-style bikes are far superior to the Akeiramobiles.

Umm.. pre-heresy? You mean RT age land raiders? And the whirlwinds with a box of missiles on top?

I can agree with the old whirlwind, but not on land raiders. New raider is so much better looking than that old "tracks go around the vehicle" type thing.

Heh.

Pre-Heresy style refers to the 3rd edition vehicle models for the most part, under the current continuity.

As in, Whirlwinds with pointy rockets, and Land Raiders that have the 4th edition style hull, but the 1st/2nd edition style under&over lascannons.

The 1st&2nd edition Land Raiders and Whirlwinds are uh, pre-pre-heresy I suppose.  :D

The word I use to describe those Land Raiders is fugly, and of all the whirlwind models, the Crayola pack is the worst.  The newer ones are better, but not by much.

I don't really like most GW tracked vehicles.  The tracks-go-around-the-hull design was abandoned in the mid-1930s.  Give me a Rhino with a christie suspension and obscenely overpowered aircraft engine (or two), and I'll show you a real Marine-mover.  The only GW tanks I like are the superheavies, since they actually could travel on something besides an airport tarmac.

Hi!

I'm getting optimistic (or maybe delusional) in my old age....  :;):

Seeing as the tanks are fighting against blokes with chainsaws, I don't think they need to worry too much about the tracks going round the hull  :;):

For what it's worth I think the Epic 40k Land Raider looks best.  Sticking the lascannon side by side, as the latest one does, makes little sense.

But, as I said myself, sense is not really the point when it comes to the 40k universe.
