Ebay
Now this is supposedly a rare model, however this is the fourth time I have seen it pop up on Ebay.  There is a lot of time in between listings so I can't be sure if it is the same guy, but I wonder if it is something he is casting.
Not that I care, but does anyone else know about these?  There was a Vampire prototype that came up as well - although that one I have not seen hide nor hair of since it sold for $35+.

On first glance it doesn't look likely to be a cast piece to me because it includes an old style hex flying stand (Which is the correct era).

Not conclusive I know.

On the other hand "In over 25 years of collecting I have never seen another one so this may be very rare indead." rings a bell.

Verdict: Inconclusive until further evidence is brought to light.

It might be one of the protoypes shown in a TL era catalogue, but was never released. I'm sure L4 will know.

It is a TL prototype.  It went with the TL-era Nightwings, as you can probably tell by the style.  Like the Exodite models it was never released but was available via mail order for a while.

I don't think it's as rare as the Exodites and x-vehicles but it's not too far behind.  I can only recall a few auctions with them in the past 3 years or so.

Thanks, much.  I figured it had to be either a limited release or a casting.

It looks interesting, but I really wish I could find the old Vampire model.  If anyone has one, PM me.

Yep, Neal is basically correct, there were 3 proto-type Eldar Aircraft, to be released about the same time as the Exodites and Eldar X-Vehicles (X-vehicles is not the "official name"; we coined it one day in the War Room, and it stuck !), and never were released "officially". ? All these were available from Epic US Archives, for a year or so.  Back at the turn of the Century, or so ...  ? I'll ask "Van" to post pics of all 3 of these Proto-type Vampire, Pheonix and Nightwing, from my War Room ! ?:D ?[pics sent "Van"]

BTW, Moscovian ... I just sent an e-mail to a buddy who has some ... I know ... I ordered them for him from the now dead Epic Archives ! "Back in the Day" ?:) ?But as in all things there is no guarantees ... And again, try Bartertown !
