I know what you mean, that Epic Chaos stuff is increasingly hard to find nowadays... unless you have this bloke's money: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....IT&rd=1

I bought a load of Chaos stuff, but all I needed were the Terminators to finish my Iron Warriors army (well, apart from a banelord and two helltalons!).

Anyway, best of luck!

If SG actually release those sprues, at current rates its 2 for ?12, and as there are 13 sprues there I make that ?78, which will probably also give you more bases...

As much as I would like to get those figs, I think I may wait till SG release them (sic). Fortunately, I suspect that I have enough unpainted figs to last me well past hell freezing over, so jobs a good 'un :p

Im more bulking out than anything. I have a lot of the old infantry, but Im lacking the new cult marines, which is a pain. I also have to come up with a way to actually use 120+ bases of Chaos Squats, which I am using as Havocs atm (about 70 are painted...), and similar quantites of other figs (although I find the old daemon beast mounted chaos warriors make very satisfying bikes...and the look on your opponents face when he sees 60+ Juggernaught bases arrayed against him is priceless  )...I will now decist rambling...

13 sprues for 162 pounds? I know chaos is hard to find, but that's ridiculous. I'll be surprised if anyone pays that much.

Yeah, it's a crazy amount of cash, to be sure.

....but.... it did give me a good picture of the 1997 Chaos infantry sprue. :)

Does anyone know of a online 'guide' that'd tell me what the individual minis represent?

TIA!
Larry

Hi RB

Your thinking is same as mine. I need the odd bits of haos infantry but not enough to pay ?12.46/ sprue.

One thing my friend Jim has done is use the Chaos Squats and paint them in Iron Warrior colours. The colour scheme really suits them.

Cheers

James

Yeah, using some version of Iron Warriors did occur to me recently with a few people building armies of them, as the possiblity of having more havocs, or just, as you say, the look being more appropriate. :)

Only downside is I have written a big pile of background on a Black Legion former rival of Abbadon's who controls several high gravity daemon worlds populated by the squats, and Im quite attached to it :D

I'm curious, how many of each mini come per sprue?

Someone probably has a better list somewhere, but as I recall you got 1 base of the basic daemon type for each god, plus a base worth of flesh hounds, a base of termies, a base of Berserkers, a base of Noise Marines, a couple of characters (3 I believe?), along with around 3 bases of cultists and 4 bases of marines. When I say 'base' I mean you get 5, except flesh hounds where you get 3 'casue they are big...

Basically, a really nice selection of bases, but you needed a lot of sprues to get a decent number of any one thing, which I can see being an issue when they re-release them. You could end up buying a lot of sprues with reduntant figures for the army you want to play...

wargame_insomniac: Im afraid the figs aint that exciting. One thing I like about Black Legion (and I have used Black Legion colours, because the idea is the leader of this faction DID lose to Abbadon, so uses his colours) is its really easy to paint. Spray black, pick out rims in gold, then some details in silver and red...and done. They dont look amazing, but they work. I did the 70-odd bases I have done in around 2 afternoons! :) Dont worry, I do remember the rule about posting pics! ...but to give a very poor idea, follow this link:

BWRPS Army Gallery

My clubs page of armies, at the moment only mine...scroll down for epic, but you cant see much, better pictures will eventually materialise...
