So... why is it I cannot stop buying Orks?  I am a complete moron when it comes to Orks.  I currently have enough models to complete a full army for every single clan.

And what did I do today?  I won an auction for 4 battlefortresses and a gargant.

Don't get me wrong.  It was a good price - $36 for $92 retail cost (before the pending price increase).  Nonetheless, I feel like I have lost all sense of reason.

And it only seems to be for Orks.

I have ~12K of Space Marines and plans for a White Scars army that I have 60+% of the models for, but I don't have a problem not bidding on SM auctions.

I have ~12K of Eldar and tentative rosters for Ulthwe, Saim Hann, and Alaitoc craftworlds that would require significant additional minis, but I don't have a problem not bidding on Eldar auctions.

I have holes in my Nid forces that I would like to fill but I don't have a problem not bidding on Tyranids.

I have 2 CSM forces and 2 L&D forces, but the only thing left on my "wish" list for them is about 5 daemonette stands and a few 40K bits for WE conversions.  I can't even remember the last time I bid on a Chaos auction.

I have only a token IG force (~3K or so) because I have converted most of my IG units into Blood Axe Ork units which, by the way, I can still organize using the IG army list if I choose.  The only auctions that I have a problem passing up for IG are the ones that would fill holes in the Blood Axe army.

But hell, if there's a good deal on an ork ebay auction it's like waving a red flag in front of a bull.  It's like some sort of bizarre manifestation of OCD compelling me to collect 6mm Orks.  Even after winning some of Pixelgeeks toys, negotiating a Bartertown deal, ordering some feral blisters and ordering even more blisters to beat the price increase in July, I STILL HAVE PENDING BIDS ON MULTIPLE AUCTIONS FULL OF ORKS.

Is there a 12-step program of some kind?

I think there's a two-step program:

1 . Buy Orks.

2 . Goto 1

You can not fight it. Orks is one of the "Addiction" armies. You can always think of another conversion to do for them. :D

I have the same thing for Imperials - yet I have had a solution forced upon me.

I've run out of cash in my debit account, everyhting else is in a bank in the UN and not as easily accessable. Sure put a crimp on my 'russ and baneblade habit!

Ive been a major sufferer of Blood Axe-itis.  I keep seeing things on ebay going cheap and think "hmm, add a roller, spkes and a daft camo scheme and that would fit right in to my army".  I have real difficulty passing up cheap scrap heap lots as they are a goldmine for orkification!

The worst thing is that Im in dire need of predators for my new marines but cant bring myself to take apart my blood-axed predators.  I mean ive got more gunwagons that Ill ever need, but the predator conversions look so damn cool...

It must be a virus: once youve got the ork bug you start getting all Krooza-esque and go, "Hmmm what about that plus spikes, guns and rollers? Mwuhuhahahah!!"

I think the major problem is that the ork stuff on Ebay always looks such good value.  Try getting an E40K sprue of IG or Chaos and you just about need to sever a limb, Tyranids are a whole torso, and even SM stuff costs, but you see ork ones for next to nothing!  You can win a big mob of great gargants for less than the cost of one Mk3 Warlord, and probably score 10 Battlefortresses for the cost of an IG Superheavy co.  It's basically a crime not to bid on them!
 :(

For me, it is Squat infantry sprues... and I have no idea why! I have loads of these, and I have yet to paint up a single base of them! But, whenever I see unpainted Squats on EBay I have to bid.    Not the vehicles... just infantry.

I know the feeling, CS. I have 6 or 7 brotherhoods and about the same number of Guild Bike Companies and yet I feel like I need more.  :D I have to tell myself over and over that I really don't need them.    I'm not as tempted with vehicles, unless they are going for a good price, with the xecpetion of Goliaths. I want to pick up another battery of them.

Over the years I've bought probably over 30 sprues. Of course, I've based up just about everything, so none on them are complete sprues anymore.  :p

Heh.  Luckily, this last frenzied round of purchases knocked out virtually all of my "to-scratch-build" list.  I'll still customize various models but the only thing I have left to scratch build are "Big Koptaz" for my Blood Axe Air Azzalt army because, obviously, there are no models available.

The really crazy thing is that for my "ideal" clan lists, I still need more.  Mostly I need Landaz and Fightabommaz but I still also need 1 more gunfortress and some kanz...

It's clearly a sickness.
:p

I still need Squat infantry I have at least 5 brotherhoods but that is not enough.

I'm also after another battery of Goliaths, in fact I have my eye on 6 at the moment on UK eBay.. Those super heavy guns are the best thing for destroying, well just about everything!  :D
