Hi, I'm a new member here.

I fell out of epic (and GW) about 14 years ago but have recently been interested in getting back in with epic.

I (think) I prefered the 2nd edition but stopped buying about this time so I only have the Space Marine boxset and whole bunch of WD's from that era.

I've been looking on Ebay for the suppliments, I just brought Titan Legions for about ?30 which seemed reasonable to me.

What I'm after is an idea of a reasonable price for the army suppliments (Renegades, Warlords, Hive War & Armies of the Imperium) on Ebay or anywhere else! Also if any are rarer than others, so I know to grab them when I can.

They current listings for these suppliments seem pretty varied in cost and not all are available although I've only jkust started looking.

Any thoughts or help would be gratefully appreciated!

Cheers,

Hello TomsDad, welcome to the boards.

It's good to see another old school Epic player return to the fold.  The first thing I can suggest to you is download the NetEpic rules.  These are based on the second edition rules and are great fun.

With regards to the prices these are the ones I've seen recently on ebay -

Renegades, I'm still after this one as well.  Around ?8 is the lowest I've seen and ?25 is the highest.  Is one of the more popular ones around.

Warlords, anywhere between ?14 - ?30.   Can be found in mint un punched conidtion for a premium at a couple of Ebay traders.

Hive War - very rare from what I've seen, only been 6-7 copies around since I started rebuying epic stuff a while back.  Expect to pay over ?20, less if your lucky.  Seen it go for ?35...

Armies of the Imperium, common as muck!! Available for anywhere between ?5 - ?20.  Shows up a lot especially bundled with the Space Marine game (Second edition)

All the prices are variable so if your lucks in on Ebay you'll be fine! Hope this helps.

I have a copy of Renegades I was thinking of selling, I've no idea if it's complete, or even over-complete (There's a lotta stuff in there!).

How can I tell?

Model wise I bid a third of the cost now (for the equivalent models). However for out of print stuff the only guide is how much you want it :)

I'm sure Chaosorc appealed to everyone for a listing of all the supplements contents. ?Primarch and Dwarf Supreme replied. ?Search for Chaosorc's original posting and you should find it ok.

Sorry found it now Forum link

Cheers for the price & rareity info,

I printed the NetEpic v5 rules & army lists out this morning, luckily I get into work 1st. They look good so far.

I do prefer the 2nd edition's more disciptive units (I like knowing the stats for boltguns), and the Company / detachement cards with the sillouttes of each tank (so you can put your dead models on them and get a quick feel for what you have left by checking the cards). Which I believe they got rid of in the later versions.

I Think the 2nd edition epic was more closely tied in theme and style to 40k, and remember being 12-14 and excited when WD had the latest conversions either way!

I just missed out on listing af all the Epic rule books and cards because I didn't quite realise what it was until too late, so I guess i'll keep trawling through Ebay,

Welcome to the forum, TomsDad. Always good to see another veteran gamer returning to the fold. :D

I believe Chaos Orc sells complete sets of the of the army supplements. He also has a decent selection of OOP minis, going back to the AT era. If you're looking for something specific, you can always ask him via email. Some of his prices might be higher than what you might be able to pay on ebay, but it does eliminate the frustration of being outbid.

As far as bidding on ebay, depending on what it is, I'm sometimes willing to pay up to the original retail price, which is of course less than the current retail price, assuming the mini still exists.
