Guess who discovered that his current army set-up would be illegal following the introduction of E-A a week or two *after* GWUK stopped selling Epic figures? Things like having *6* stands of terminators painted - that's either 2 too many, or 2 too few. Gah. Right now I *need* 2 sprues of space marine infantry, and two sprues of space marine tanks. I have some eldar stuff I could possibly sort out as a trade (and maybe even some bits of orks, or tyranids), but it's all odds and sods to be honest. Or I could pay cold hard cash - say a tenner for the 4 sprues, if you have them? Can't overstate how much I do want to get my Chapter back into shape! Oh, and I won't say no if someone has some spare eldar infantry sprues they want to sell to a good home ... |

If you do not mind cross Atlantic buys, GWUSA still has both on their site and as of last week still had them available. dafrca |

Yeah, I went to GWUK to get some elda spruces and couldn't find anything either. Did they just stop selling off the extras? The last time I looked, they were far from selling the stuff off. What the hell is the matter with them. Don't they like having their company make money? |

Well, I've managed to source my missing sprues from the UK ![]() I guess that GW's withdrawal of Epic from sale is so that they can get maximum impact from its re-release. Otherwise, players could download the E-A rules, buy up some cheap metal and plastics from MO, and be playing the game for a reasonable price! |

The daftest thing is, Jervis has cited the hopeless release schedule as one of the factors whch caused E40k to fail - you know, launch with only Marines and Orks sorted, and add IG, Eldar, Tyranids etc at the rate of one every six months. So, what's going to be the format for the E-A releases? Orks and SM ready in time for the launch, then one army every few months, I bet ... |

It is my understanding that the news is actually worse than that. No minis will be released until a few months after the initial release. Unless, they stop mucking about and release what is availabe at the time of the launch. It doesn't look good at the moment. They are working hard at killing the game months before it is ever released to the public. A sad, but true endevor that we may have to face. ![]() |

I so hope you are wrong. Even though I have more then I need to play, three of the people who I have interested in the game do not. It will be sad if they release the game and wait too long to introduce models to go with it. This is compounded even more by the idea that only "models we release" will be in the official army list. taht would mean we could not even get some of the things on the list? dafrca |

Hi! I have been following Jervis's arguments regarding tournament lists versus the "section 8" no points costs for older models. I think thats a wrong move, but he has his mind made up on this. I wonder what newbies are supposed to do when shown older models and then told they cant get them any more. Or worse yet, can you envision the multitude of arguements when a player with older models wants to use it and either the other player refuses or cant argree on a "fair value" for it? Its easy to blame players when the above arises, but is it really thier fault? After all this is one pretty big hole to leave open. Primarch |

Hi! They seem to have learned some lessons from epic40k, but not others. I can understand Jervis's arguments for not giving points values to all models new and old, but I think not doing it is just alienating older gamers. A new version of the game is always a gamble to see if they can attract new gamers. What I dont understand is why they keep doing things that dont promote keeping the current player base. Another point is that most arguments on the net focus on on the usual neverending battle of current version and the older SM/TL version, but less concern is focused on if die hard epic40k fans will embrace Epic A. There seems to be the assumption that they will all "convert" easily. I think this assumption is erroneous since I have seen quite a few "epic40k 'ers" still prefer that rule set over Epic A. I'm content to sit and watch the firewroks. Primarch |
