Post subject:  Question about Ork Blisters

OK guys, I need some help understanding what I am doing "wrong". I put up an ebay auction for 4 Ork Blisters. I had the starting bid at $2.00 per blister. It ended without any bids. So I thought OK, maybe I am asking too much. Relisted it at $1.25 per blister. Now there is no bids again.

Here is a link:

I must assume it is not the cost per blister so is it the items? Is it the combination, like no one would want all four?

Any help would be great.

my guess is that no one wants them...

because to be honest what you are offering is not exactly what Ork players want...

Weirdboy Battle Tower - to be honest most people don't like the models and you don't need many in your army...

Mekboy Speedstas - you don't need many in your army...

also a quick search for Epic Ork shows that they are a little over-priced when you can put an opening bid of $2 for some very OOP Ork miniatures

other items similar (and cheaper) include

I think you are going to have to accept that you ain't even going to get a dollar each for these - though you might if you split them up!

Sorry

No need to be sorry Jimbo, I asked for honest feedback and you gave me what I asked for  :D

If these have no value then what I do is pop the blisters and drop them into the bits box or I toss them into other auctions boxes as I send them out as "bonus" stuff. So be it.

When I buy a whole collection it is understood some items will sell for a lot and some are worthless. The trick is knowing them for what they are. As orks are not my strong point I just combined a few as a test.

Thank you for your efforts!

Try the Bartertown site, sooner or later someone buys them.  That's my experience ...

dafrca:  For the record, I looked at that lot and rejected it without even realizing who had posted it.  It is an odd lot.  It seems that more "unified" listings tend to go for more money.

There's also the fact that the shipping on it is almost $5.  So, the real price per blister is $2.50 to start, or about $1 per fig.  I'm a cheap Cad, and $1/model or stand is about as much as I want to pay for anything, much less stuff that's of questionable utility.

Hope that helps.

Post subject:  Question about Ork Blisters

Neil,

Thanks for the input. I think this auction failed on acouple of issues:

a) My ignorance of what an ork player would be looking for, thus the poor combo.

b) Having some items not desired because they where either of limited use or a model not liked by most (almost like the "new" Phantom titan problem)

I am thinking what I need to do is post here my Ork list of stuff and get some feedback as to it's usefulness.

As for the shipping, most of the people who win want Priority Shipping. Sadly the USPS has raised the rate to about $4.30 minimum. Then because of past issues I always use Delivery Conformation and that adds another .50+ to the total.

As a side note, I do use what ever method the winner desires and in most cases do not charge more then what I pay. I have had quite a few outside the US be shocked when I quote shipping that has not been increased to better the bottom line :-)

But again, thanks for the input.
