Not strictly sci-fi, but some have used these critters in their Epic forces.
Roughly 60 strips of Irregular 6mm Ratmen. Mostly hand weapons, some bows and guns. Some heroes, two catapults. A strip is 5 rats.
Painted one strip, but my wife couldn't tell that they were rats.
