hello everyone.
I am after space marine units/tanks/dice/templates and forgeworld bits for my new marine army.
This will be my first army build in epic (former 40k player for some 15 years). I have not formalised an army list yet as i have only had a couple of demo games so far.
I am aware i have no track record on this forum to relate to how trustworthy i am so i am supplying my ebay user name (craig1001.123) i have 316 transactions (mostly sales) and 100% feedback so i hope this helps.
I am based in the U.K.
I here warhound titans are very good to use with marines and i love the forgeworld models (been to their website and cant find them so guessing discontinued) i would also be looking for some of them.
I want to attend a torni this year and would welcome any posts/pms concerning list builds (i.e staple units to include and points levels to play).
Both myself and my 2 local friends getting into epic now are mature gamers and have been playing 40k/warmachine at a competative level for some years (we fancy a change of game and epic has filled that gap for us) Both my friends have forces from old but i never played so am really catching up. I am based in Exeter,Devon.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
Craig

Welcome to the forums. I'm sure you'll be able to find willing traders on your side of the pond.
The Forgeworld Warhounds seem to be still under production in limited runs -- there's an ongoing thread in the forum that tracks their status, as well as all sorts of other FW rumors.

Points levels for tourneys are pretty much always 3000 points unless the TO has something special in mind.

As far as list building goes, building combined arms is a good idea in Epic. Marines lack in long range anti-tank/war engine or the artillery of the likes of the Guard, but have the best air assault in the game, so you'll usually see at least one Thawk full of nastiness in Marine lists. Warhounds are very good in Marine lists as well, and bring your best long range anti tank option in the Plasma Blastgun, but both the Thawk and Warhound need finesse to use correctly. Mechanised Tactical, Scout and Devastator formations are really good solid formations as well, and your bikers and speeders are good too.

http://www.epic-uk.co.uk/ has the bulk of Uk tournaments listed in the Events bit, plus current army lists for Epic UK tournaments in the Army Lists section. The lists have been developed from the original Specialist Games lists, with tweaking aimed to create balanced tournament games.

If you want some sample lists, the Epic UK Championship section of the site has the results from the last few years tournaments, and, pertinently, has the army lists of the players - http://www.epic-uk.co.uk/ukepicachampio ... ourn10.php . Pick a tournament, and click on the Army column for the player's army list.

Would well recommend getting to Maelstrom for one of the bashes up there if you can. They're very well kitted out for playing tournaments, and the regular tournament players are very welcoming.

Gary's said Maelstrom would like to do more to support Epic, but GW won't let them sell it, just the 40k/FB/LotR ranges...

Cool. The Epic UK guys who organise the Maelstrom tournaments post here on Tac Comms, so it's a good place to ask any questions.

Did you do the Warmachine ETC last June at Maelstrom?

Very last minute but the Bristol Winter Warmer is on the 15th of this month: if you can bodge together an army in time we're very new player friendly :-)
See my Signature for the link, and welcome aboard!

PS: there will also be a trade section to the day so you might be able to pick up some of the bits that you need that way!
