So I was personally planning on making an order to Forgeworld and was wondering whether others wanted to jump in with anything.

The postage as I had the order was 15 pounds. Even if the order does not reach 250pounds to attain free shipping, sharing the 15pounds would be better.

I believe that Dobbsy and Blish have expressed an interest (still to confirm and receive orders). I may even get WargamerAU involved if we are close enough to the 250 to get the free postage.

So, anyone want to jump in on this order?

Yep it's percentage based up to £250, so there's no incentive to share to load until you hit £250.

I am talking to Blish this week and will get his order. I will come back to this list with an update as to how close to 250 we are.

Awesome. That puts us at about $91GBP to go, and after talking to Blish just then, we may have the $250GBP target already   :vD

I will talk further with Blish on the weekend and should get the go ahead this Sunday. If people are happy with that, I will make the order on the Tuesday (give time for people to confirm their order and not pull out). I would appreciate a quick payment after this (after I pay I will have the exchange rate) as I am not working and cannot afford to be buying other people's minis   :sigh:

If anyone else is joining in or orders needed to be added to, I am putting the top limit of the order at $300GBP to make sure we do not pay any duty or taxes.

Frogbear,

Just a word of warning - it may be different in Australia, but in Canada, UPS (the shipper that FW use for the free shipping) collect the taxes and duties themselves, and add a brokerage fee. As a result, past orders that local gamers have done end up costing about an extra 5%-%10 (over the tax) because of that fee.

I don't know that I would ask them to send it Royal Mail, especially since the UK post is on strike and you don't get tracking, but you might want to keep the extra cost in mind.

I believe that as long as we are under AUS$1000, we are free of taxes/duties (hence the $300GBP limit)

I will look into it further however

No worries. Sweet deal if you can avoid them; we pay taxes on any out-of-country purchase over $20.
