I think as long as a person makes the effort to keep you informed about any delays I don't care how long they take.

The bad traders are those that just disappear from the face of the earth, not the guy that emails you sorry for week delay but he is working on it.

I even had one person opt out of a trade after I sent the stuff. He returned my stuff with an explination and I was not mad.

Communication is a good thing. :D

Just to clarify something here...

ChaosOrc was previously listed here by me after a long standing non communication and outstanding trade deficit.  We got back in touch (through here) and resolved it amicably and rapidly.

I have thus had all negative comments removed from this bad traders thread.

thanks,
Tas

eBay warning:  Don't deal with user jedi-p.  I won an auction for a Slasha Gargant, paid immediately via Paypal, then had to go through five weeks of unanswered emails and whatnot before I finally filed a Paypal dispute.  Paypal eventually refunded my money, but I never even got a hint of reconciliation from the seller.

I'm afraid I must report another case of bad trading: 2 Scoops of Annihilation. I never received any of the stuff we agreed upon and he stopped transmitting in January. ?:(

And Vanvlak: no problem whatsoever. You've stayed in communication all the time. I know perfectly well the meaning of workload. ?:)

I just noticed that over on Bartertown there is a trader that is posting under the name "2 Scoops Of Annihilation."  You might want to check it out...

2004spen on eBay.

This was the auction: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0021920936

After several weeks, got a sad email that the item was returned, and he claimed the postage was a whopping 6 quid!

I've dealt with him several times, without problems.
The reason for the ?6.00 P&P, is ?1.50 for P&P plus ?4.50 for Airsure, so items are trackable (A sign of increasing Paypal non-receipt claims, that simple proof of postage isn't enough to show that the item was posted)
Oh, and he's got 100% feedback on 1550 trades.

I'm prepared to accept his assertion that the item was mysteriously returned to him, provided he can show me a picture of said item.

But for 6 pounds I had better damn get my stuff. He entered into a contract with me, and a real man of his word will stick to it. Let's see what he's really made of.

Now he's trying to get away with just refunding the money for the item, but not the shipping. Since the shipping was more than the cost of the item, that's a pretty crappy offer.

The best he could provide was a tracking number that yielded

"Your item, posted on 23/02/08 with reference LY329211755GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."

That's pretty sucky service for $9 US.

So, what should I do with this guy? I just asked him to re-send it via normal mail. If he's legitimate, then it should get through the second time. If the positions were reversed, that's what I would do for my customer instead of blubbering about wasted postage.

Ebay trader robert925925 Is a recaster.  Avoid him- he's currently selling poorly recast Ordinati and has caught myself and AdamG out :(

Have you got a photo of the actual Ordinatus he sold you?  I want to see what a nasty counterfeit looks like.  I wanted one of those Ordinati, but I was suspicious that he'd sold six since the beginning of April.

Usually the indicators of recasts are:

-double mould lines
-metal that hasn't flowed into details properly, details not crisp (often happens with home casting when you don't have a centrifuge to ensure proper flow of metal)
-very pitted surfaces (though this can occur on genuine models as well)
-in case of resin: air bubbles
-"pre undercoated miniatures - for your convenience" miniatures with a thin layer of undercoat will disguise many signs of poor casting.
-unusual quantities of rare models

Curis: check this thread, post 14.  WMN pretty much summed it up- Pitted surface, very poor detail, gaps in teh moulding.

Oh, and the recent purchasing of casting kit and lead bars... Hmmm.... suspicious

Hahah!  That thread's awesome.  I only think it could be more blatant if his eBAy userid was "recaster925925".
