This particular board relies heavily on the honesty and trust of the members here. In addition, I am unwilling to impose hard rules about conduct here. However, while the threads are largely in the hands of the trader/original poster, I would like to suggest certain 'good practice' principles as advisable for trades conducted.
Reservation by Post/Message
All trades should be conducted in the open, via standard posts in thread. I would like to discourage members from sending Private Messages (PMs), emails or other private methods when asking questions, making offers or requesting reservations. This stops disappointment when the item that you think is still available has already been reserved through 'hidden' channels.
Now it's clear this is not always what happens, and that this arranging of sales by PM is at the heart of these misunderstandings. It's impractical and largely impossible for the mods team to force these guidelines in any way, but when trades are conducted through private channels these things can and will happen. I suggest that in the future we all make our offers on the relevent thread, and reserve PMs for private details such as payment and shipping details only. Hopefully this will minimise further disappointments.
