There's an Eric Fontaine associated with the NOVA Open, a con out of Arlington, VA. Given:

  • saweus6 is based out of Arlington, VA according to eBay
  • both are offloading Epic (including SM/TL Knights, with saweus6's going for cheap at the end of June)
  • and the C&D that went out in early July involved Knights

I'd be willing to bet that they're the same person.

Thanks for the update. It would make sense, as this 'person' appeared not long after Eric was banned from all the groups.

I can contact the epic 40k page admin and update him with this. There is the epic Armageddon page as well as the epic Armageddon trade and sale page. Does anyone have contact with the admins on them? I know a famous blue werewolf is the admin to the epic Armageddon page but I didnt think Ben was really active any more (I've not seen him post there in a long time)

I don't know - I've dealt with saweus6 and the name he has associated with his Paypal and Ebay accounts is NOT Eric Fontaine. In addition, the Ebay/Paypal name is a real person in Arlington, and he seems to be a DOJ lawyer. Please do not screw with saweus6, as there is no proof it's the same guy.

EDIT: I just confirmed that saweus6 has been a member of a Yahoo Epic group since 2001 using a name that is not Eric Fontaine.

I'm pretty sure that the guy who actually recieved the C&D would rather this was all swept under the rug and not made a big deal of....

saweus6 may or may not this Eric chap. The point is that saweus6 was using a fake facebook profile on several groups, constantly asking about forumware/shapeways products, even when asked not too (polity, I might add) and then trying to set up some dodgy sounding ebay deals.

Like I mentioned before, nothing wrong with asking for help with ebay deals within the community- the problem is that this chap has joined the community with a blatantly fake profile (Lemon Russ? At least make a fake profile and name your self Steve or something!) only 4 or so weeks ago, And in that time he has asked about illegal practices, asked not so subtlety as well and yet knows well enough WHAT to ask for BY name (forumware, Italian marines etc ) which indicates to me he knows enough about the epic scene to know WHAT exactly it is he is asking in the first place.

Some of you have traded with me in the past, and you know that I use my birth name on facebook, but my legal name is my adopted name, and generally I'm upfront about this, and so far no one has had an issue with who I am or why I do it. When asked why he was using a fake name and no photo on facebook he avoided the question, or gave a silly, off handed remark instead of an answer. But he wants people to trust him enough to order from ebay for him, and for him not to rip them off. I would hope that anyone one of you would have come in and put a stop to it if you had seen me offering to help him, if I hadn't already seen his other behaviour.

@berzerkmonkey I'm not pursing this any further than having already contacted the admin of one facebook page and putting this information up here. I'm not trying to 'screw' with saweus6, Several people that included myself saw him over the pages setting up this dodgy scheme and when called out on it, got shitty, then I (and probably others were) was blocked. Its not my problem any more- I can no longer see his posts, and after posting this I wont give him another thought. I did what I thought what was right, and tried to help out the epic community by looking out for someone that looked like they were heading in to an ebay scam. If it was wrong, I'd happily apologise to the guy. I only contacted the admin because I was basically told to mine my own business, when I was able to show that he had been in the other groups we were both a part off, doing similar, scammy sounding things. (which he was denying to the people he was trying to set the ebay deal with)

I realise I was the only one to bring it up here, and publicly on one of the epic pages, but I wasn't the only person to call him out on the facebook groups.

I'm sorry if that I have offended you by bringing this up, or anyone in that matter, and equally sorry for bringing facebook drama to the boards. I'm not after a witch hunt, I simple popped the info up here for people to either pass it on to the other epic pages (as I am not in contact with them) or to be weary when dealing with him.

As much as I love Epic scale gaming, over the past 12 months I have seen an increase in this type of behaviour on the facebook epic groups and it is getting rather unpleasant.

i had real trouble with John Sutton from australia. He might be in the Forum too. he ordered a rulebook for Armageddon with untracked shipping as cheap as possible. after weeks it didn´t arrived. of Course this sucks, but usually it takes a bit to ship around the world from Germany if you choose the cheapest Option.
he got really unfriendly, spammed me with a lot messages, called me a scammer and that he would destroy my Reputation in the community.
he said i had no proof that i really sended it, after i showed him what you get, when you just send a large letter, of Course no number for tracking or anything else to track to letter down or even see, who sended it to whom he wasn´t even satisfied and wanted a refund.
if you want tracking you have to pay for it!!!
finally the envelope arrived, surprise surprise. and what do i get from him, after he sended me Messages after Messages? amazing and a pic of the rulebook.
no sorry, nothing and this is, what really upsets me!

so beware of him! if you do Business with him only with tracked shiping!!

Bogenverleih is a cheater, he cheatet me and a guy from the States with BFG Ships. He send the stuff , but unisured although the insurance was payed, the model cam damged and the the Eldar escorts were not complete. He never ever answered from that point on. He was banned from a number of forums in Germany under different names, look here:

Martin R.

There was one fin missing on the escorts and that was clearly visible on the pic. And you are calling me a scammer for that. Are you nuts?!

I have been through a number of threads here regarding this issue (and due thanks to Dave for stepping in while I was away on holiday last week).

Some 'clarifications'......

1. Please keep all posts here, particularly argumentative posts, in English. While I entirely understand the difficulty working in a second (or more!) language, particularly when passions and tempers are high, it does no good to start arguing in other languages as it creates a barrier for the rest of the forum. I am very understanding of the language issues, as a foreigner in another country myself who also doesnt speak the language, and dont require perfect 'Queens English' at any time...... the US guys would all fail that test anyway! ;)

2. I dont know the background here. Thats it. I do not and can not know what happened in the past on other sites. As such, I cannot make any judgements on the integrity of new members or those who have not previously traded here. I am going to write this in bold because it is very important - I am not saying that either of you are correct and I am not making a judgement either way. I dont know. It is impossible to verify.

All of that said, all members here are offered the benefit of the doubt, any 'reputation' from outside this site cannot be verified absolutely either way, and all trades carry risk and should be executed with caution. I have eBay purchases go wrong with sellers who have 10,000 positive feedback points.

Therefore, I have removed negative comments from the various sales threads. The above comments will remain in this thread for balance. It will end here and no further comments will be posted either way on this until someone has real trade experience.

Just a post to report Borgenverleih for being a total arsehole

last year I sold him some miniatures, after a few weeks he claimed the package never arrived, as I didn't send it tracked (my mistake) I had no way to prove otherwise, a week or so later, he opened a dispute and got his money back

Now I see over in his trade thread that some of the revenant titans (brown, sandy tufted bases, converted with chainsword arms) from the package that was 'lost'

my mistake for not sending tracked, but it's a real shitty move to try to sell the stuff on under my nose, I would warn anyone to think twice about trading with him, his name on FB where we conducted the trade is Martin Reuter, I've also saved the pics for evidence in case they mysteriously disappear....

I've had one relatively painless experience buying from him on FB.

I've noticed that he does, however, snap up a lot of the trades/items for sale there, especially the lots, then parcels them out at higher prices later. So...kinda a dick move.

I can confirm that those Revenants are the 'lost' ones that Kyussinchains sold him

I did another deal with him again but insisted on sending via insured courier at his cost... unsurprisingly that one arrived just fine...
