Epicollector has done the same thing to me in the past aswell. I usually wait until the end to place my bid but I had to do it earlier because the auction was finishing in the middle of the night. He came along and swoopped up the Land Raiders for almost retail price at the last minute (both boxes of Land Raiders ? ).

Funny, when I saw this again yesterday, I was gonna say watch out for Epicollector...

Sorry you didn't get it Otterman. Lets hope that Epicollector actually does something with it and not just let it sit on a shelf somewhere and gather dust...

I figured he was the most significant competition. Some of my, er, associates, pledged more than the bid of $200 reflected, but I was unwilling to exercise their generosity to the fullest.

$200 US is my limit for a toy soldier.

Incidentally, "cad" wasn't what I intended to post about him.

He's on my crap list now.

Yeah, I really appreciate his website as a reference point but when it comes to auctions I keep thinking, "Doesn't he have enough!?"  I admit I have bumped the price on some auctions he was bidding on just out of curiosity and sure enough he would bid more.  I'm fairly convinced he would have bid $500 for this model, O.  In retrospect you didn't have much of a chance.

I've found him to be a reasonable bloke actually, and like it or not, last minute sniping is the Ebay way!  They positively encourage it.
