I think the last one made 94 Pounds IIRC.  I know I went to 45 Quid and the price sailed past that more than 24 hours out.

I wouldn't be surprised if it went that high again.

Big competition on this one... Shiba, McLeod, and most notably Epicollector.  All three have snatched up auction items I wanted by bidding what I can only imagine to be insane amounts.

When did I bid an insane amount?  Well, maybe on those Exodites.....but nothing else I swear!  I'll defer to O-Man on this one for the greater good :)

I confirmed that it is just superglued together. Our cooperative effort would have been for naught if it were pinned or greenstuffed.

Based on L-4s information, recreation is feasible. Heck, if Warmongers are possible, this thing should be, too.

Collective bid increased.

It's up to $120, with slightly less than 2 days to go. I am becoming concerned, even with the help that has been pledged.

I've thrown my hat in the ring.

Note to non-native US speakers: I'm not sure what that expression means, either.

From:

http://www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_boar ... s/347.html

n the early 19th century, when boxing was quite popular, one who wished to challenge a boxer would throw his hat into the ring. This was probably necessitated by the crowds and noise at such events; you'd be missed if you simply tried to shout out a challenge or push your way through the crowd and into the ring. John Hamilton Reynolds wrote in The Fancy: "Throw in his hat, and with a spring get gallantly within the ring." This is from 1820 and is the first recorded use of the term.
The phrase soon came to be used figuratively to mean "to enter a contest" and then "to enter a political contest". Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt used it in 1912:"My hat's in the ring", he said, meaning that he had entered the presidential race.

I saw one of these in the flesh for the first time yesterday... they're bigger than I'd expected.

Yes, they are big Mothers ! I used an extra hvy bow turret for a Demolisher variant,(I posted pics before). So they are Big ! :D   And good post there, Iain ! The US Army in WWI had a "hat in ring" squadron. Symbol was Uncle Sam's Red, White and Blue hat entering a gold ring.  I think the intent there was the same ... The Yanks have entered the War.  :D
