Heresiarch posted this over in the temp forum....

Rackham's pre-painted game. What little I have seen, it looks good.

Me, I want a few of these......

I like the way that this is going as well. I am not so keen on pre-painted. Yes, I know that that I could re-paint, but I probably wont bother getting the stuff if it is prepainted. I am also not so sure about the rules, and will wait to see how it turns out after further development. Still, the minis look at least good enough to convert over to Defiance for me!

Pre-painted? Oh... sudden drop in interest.  :(

They have been doing demos at a lot of the cons and they have a brief explination on their website in their forums including photos of the game cards etc.

Same way of thinking here on my end. I think some of these would make great 15mm walkers.  :;):

Funny, that is one of the points that made my interest move from No Way to "Maybe".

They come ready to place on the table, they look good, I do not care about their game specs so I can trade away all the humans and not care, and they look OK so far.

Prepainted is a selling point for me.

I don't think anything regarding the unpainted versus pre-painted issue has ever been officially declared by Rackham.

I'm just taking a wait and see approach myself...

I don't truly care much myself one way or the other as I can always repaint them.

???  So those press releases put out by Rackham about a year ago that were in many of the toy trades were withdrawn? Rackham has officially retracted the fact that the game was a prepainted CMG?

I did not know that. Interesting. I wonder if that also means they changed their minds about doing the figures as plastic?

Just out of curiosity, where did you see they changed their minds?

This quote came out of a report about Rackham's IPO financial prospectus, I realize it is not a quote from the prospectus itself:

One of the reasons Rackham is seeking more capital is to be able to launch new games and diversify its line.  Rackham is promising fans that it will continue its tradition of superior quality figures in the new AT-43 Mecha CMG.  Rackham spokesman Kaian Draghost noted: "Regarding the quality of pre-painted minis, it's only a question of what a company wants to do.  If a company wants to pay for a pre-painted quality mini, it will take more time and will be more expensive from our side, but we will have great results.  We think at Rackham that if we provide pre-painted minis, we MUST propose a great quality, even for a pre-painted model."

There are others out there, but I will just quote this one as my point is not to attack but rather seek to understand if they have moved away from this original direction.

Thanks Heresiarch.... I guess.

Well remember that if you buy a mini and add it into an existing army that does not make it a new army.  :;):

Buy a few, add them into your Titan army and thus, your stand is still in tact.

Definitely not taken as an attack of any sort Dafrca... :D

If you don't speak French you'll probably have to use something like Babelfish to translate the thread but theres a relatively long thread in the French language Rackham forums regarding the unpainted vs pre-painted issue:

http://forum.confrontation.fr/viewtopic.php?t=24662

The general gist of it from Rackham themselves seems to be some or all of the game miniatures will be available in *both* unpainted and prepainted versions.

They don't get very specific about what will be in what versions though...

Ah, that is true, my lack of French could have a great impact to the info.  :;):

I will be honest and say I thought, when I first heard about the project, that they would back out when they realized the costs in having prepainted that looked like what they wanted.

But then again, I was not going to ignore them if they did it.

My only issue will be cost per miniature as I am not, at this time, planing to play their game.
