Hey guys,

I have a sad but serious question. I put some resin miniatures in brake fluid and persumably a bit too long. The old colour is gone, though the miniatures feel a bit like rubber now (relatively soft and flexible).

My question is... do they harden again after a while?
And second, is it ok if I paint them up now or later - means does the colour harm the resin now?

As I am not sure, in which forum this fits best, feel free to move it where ever appropriate.

Many thanks :)

I've seen that happen too. It Might recover, if you leave it alone.
Do Not paint now, the resin is likely swollen from the shit it's absorbed, and will shrink when it evaporates. Once it hardens again - after some days, in my case - it may be fine.

I've seen both full recovery and turned to crumbly flaky unrecoverable trash.

Well ... in my case it is already 5 days ago and still rubber-ish in consistency. I tried to undercoat a single piece today and the result is quite nice. the acrylic paint seals the surface and makes it a little more durable. "lucky-me" as I discovered the chemical reaction early enough to keep the details... Let's see, what happens...

The resin was from Forgeworld btw...
