This does look more alienish, but to be honest I think the Epic40k version looks more like military hardware than this:

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/scorp2.htm

It just looks like a large Falcon. Almost unimaginative.

Actually, looking at the older Scoprion by Forge World, I don't think that does the Epic 40k version either.  I'll admit the detail on the new one is superb, but like the rest of this generation's Epic stuff, I am not all that impressed. . .

Hi!

It seems a lot of new models are just "bigger", but not new in design.

It may well be their new trend of "bigger is better"....

That thing is massive!.. Too big to be a pratical game peice I.O.P :p
Ive never bought a FW model.. are the big models such as this one made from resin too? It must be pretty heavy.
Personly I dont understand why people want such large WH40K armys. Its far more pratical to use Epic, and also cheaper.

Hi!

I've been saying the same thing for years to 40k players Kr00za.

I've known 40k players who have had COMPANIES of tanks and even armorcast titans. Thousands of dollars spent..

...and they still cant get that epic feel...

..poor misguided souls.... :D

I quite like some of the bigger FW models but not as gaming peices.
Some are more pratical than others. I can understand someone wanting a BaneBlade, lets face it, it rocks! But even so a peice as large as that is better used on its own. My mate has one and its pretty much the only IG model he has, but its still alot of fun to play against.
I was tempted to buy a FW Fighta-Bomba for my band of Speed-Freaks, but Ive desided Im better off making a squadron of 4 or 5 smaller Grot Fighters from some WW2 models.

It's only logical ... I'm still amazed why anyone would buy a 40K scale Titan ! :o

We-ell:
1 - great fun to build up and paint
2 - an eye-catching beastie
3 - fun for special 40K scenarios
4 - I'd like to see the usual Berzerkers, Wych Elves, Carnifices or other close combat nasties mess THAT up.

Those are the pros; to be fair, there are cons:
1 - $$$$
2 - where do you store it away? a.k.a. dust and cats
3 - games use is limited

But given the opportunity (namely, enough of the $$$$ to splash out) I'd get a Warhound - not because it's the smallest, nor even bec. it's the only one around currently available (barring 2nd hand Armorcast), but bec. it's my favourite Titan - although the 40K version I'd like to see is a blown up (sizewise, not explosionally) old Space Marine era dog-faced Warhound.

Well, it quite depend if you're of the "painter" or the "gamer" kind of people. being one of the former, i certainly know i would be quite glad to get my hand on something like the Warhound Titan, or the uge Dragon FW made, or their bloodthirster, or many such pieces, if i had the money...

I wouldn't think even a second about playing with such a model. After all, most modelling kits are not made to play with but only for display...

Ah yes... I remember seing a website somewhere with this guy who used to work for Armourcast who has made some pretty outrageous 40k scale Nurgle Chaos titan conversions from miscasts. If I had the money too buy the FW warhound I would never dare try any conversions on it... Just thinking all the other nice things you can get for that amount of money is quite horrific.

Cheers! :)
