I bought some of the new G/W tactical color paints, and G/W US sells empty bottles too. ?Well they easily "pop" open and have a channel inside the top to funnel paint back into bottle. I use a lot of Polly's S paints, they have very good tactical colors. ?And with the metal screw top lids and glass (!) bottles, many times the paint causes the lids to stick and then opening them causes them to warp, etc., etc. ?So I tranferred some of my Pollys into the new G/W bottles. And needless to say I am very pleased. ?So check it out ! ? ?

Thanks for the tip mate. Personally, I use a range of paints but 85% of them are the 1st run of Citadel paints from the old sets ("Monster Paint Set" etc) in the old white plastic flip tops pots.
They are old(over 15yeras old for the newest ones), been through lots of very hot Australian summers, moved accross the world twice and are still fantastic. Only 2 metallics have ever funked out on me and all the rest just keep on going until they run out.
Now am I being an old sod or do they really not "make em like the old days" ?

Hi!
I have heard the newer GW paints dont "last as long" as the old ones did, that they dry up after prolongued lack of use.
Is this true?
I still have quite a bit of the original GW paint from the early 90's and they all work just fine.

Well as I said, I use only a few of G/W's paints, as I have been using Polly's since the '70s and I like their realistic military colors. And they seem to last 10 years of more. As for the new G/W paints, lasting - I'll let you know ... I'm more excited about the bottles than colors. I have Panzer Yellow, Warsaw Pact Green, etc. from Pollys ...

I know what you mean, lately I have take quite a shine for such colors and am getting painted my stuff in colors like that.
Still have to do something about my lime colored thunderbolts and orange colored hellhounds though.....

I think the reason GW paints have not been lasting as long as the old ones is that they came in the pots with screw on plastic lids which did not make an airtight seal, so the paints would dry out and go hard... these new pots are much better and should keep the paints wet just as long as the old style..
