I picked up a couple of BFG minitures from a second hand stall, they are both in bad shape and already painted. So my first question is how do strip paint from metal mini's and from plastic mini's without damaging them?
How do you paint them once you have stripped them? I have a couple of old terminators and an epic leman russ that I intend to practice on but even when I collected 40k I limited my painting to colouring the stands and since then I have only painted two of my three leman russ.
First of all I should probably tell you that at the moment I only have three colours the sum total of the second hand stall's stock. Black, Fortress Grey and Codex grey... obviously I'll get more but I want to make a start.

I am no paint expert but...
Simple Green is the stuff for plastic minis IMHO, though there are other options are you will find in the other thread.
And you can make a great start with your 3 colours- spray them black, drybrush with your darker grey and highlight (or very light drybrush) with the light grey. It looks good, gets them into action now and you can add more details later when you get more colours.

funny enough I was going to recommend exactly what Tas did regarding the colours and highlights using your lighter grey.
You will be surprised at how simple some things can be painted but have a good result.
