Pretty cool stuff this time around!! ![]() ******************************************** Hi, Welcome to the latest Forge World Newsletter! Well, we're back from Chicago, where a great time was had by all. It was nice to meet some of you. It's just a shame I didn't realise my name badge was wrong until the end of the day! We're now packing up and getting ready to go to Toronto for Games Day Canada http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesdaytoront.htm on the 16th August. The new Imperial Armour - Vol 1 book should be on sale and we may also have a few of the new Epic Eldar vehicles available as pre-release (more on those later). We are still taking reservation orders for Toronto, however the cut off day for these is Monday 11th August so if there is something you want holding back for you, then let us know quickly. ?To help with your shopping list we have prepared a price list in Canadian Dollars which you can download here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/PDF/Canadapricelist.pdf Games Day Germany http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesdaycolog.htm is fast approaching. Any reservations for this event need to be in by Wednesday 20th August. We get quite a lot of questions about the new Imperial Armour book, asking what it's like and what is in it. Rather than answer them myself I'm going to cheat. One of our subscribers sent me this link (you know who you are, thanks) http://www.gamingreport.com/modules....&id=681 It's an independent review of the new book and should answer most of the easier questions we are asked. Now for the important bit. The first models we have to show is the new Vanaheim pattern Medusa http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/vmedusa.htm ?and Basilisk http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/vbasilisk.htm by Tony Cottrell. The shield will be available as a conversion kit to be added to your Basilisks or Medusas. It will also be available as a conversion kit with the Medusa pieces so that you won't have to buy two different kits to get your Vanaheim Pattern Medusa. We also have a range of Epic 40,000 models to show you. First up we have some Eldar Wave Serpents http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/ewaveserpents.htm Further proof should it be needed of Brian Fawcett's Debigulating machinery. He didn't stop there either, he's also done a new Falcon Grav Tank http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/efalcon.htm ?Still not content he went on to make Epic size Ork Gunwagons http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/egunwagons.htm No Ork Warboss should be without them. Finally, from the insanely talented hands of Simon Egan (or maybe he's stolen Brian's Debigulator?) we have an Epic 40,000 scale Tyranid Harridan http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/eharridan.htm Tyranid players rejoice! All of these new models along with the models shown in the last newsletter should be on sale at UK Games Day. We may have some of the Eldar vehicles on sale at Games Days before that. Warwick Kinrade has just poked his head into the office and told me that he has updated the rules for the Chaos War Mammoth for Warhammer. He has also updated the rules for the Chaos Spined Beast and the Giant Chaos Spawn for Warhammer 40K. You can peruse them at your leisure here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads.htm along with all our other rules downloads. Well, thats it for another newsletter. I'm off to Canada soon with Warwick and Tony so if you are there pop by and say hello. Thanks Dean Winson Forge World ****************************************** Good hey!! ...and all those links worked straight off... |

Hi! The Harridan looks pretty good and quite large. I wonder what the actual size is. Primarch. |

Well... the small flying base is approx 3cm diameter... So, I'd judge the whole model as being 10-12cm in length, nose to tail? ![]() - Nice and big, anyway! ![]() |

So what did you order Primarch? Was this for your birthday present? Is this to boost your armies closer to 1,000,000pts? I would have thought you have more than enough painting to do already! Cheers, Chris. |

Hi! My last order was for all the IG weapons platorms and Medusa artillery as well as the gun carriage. I also got the Salamanders and chimera variants. It wasn't for my birthday though, but it was a sizeable order. This and another deal for old IG stuff will get my IG forces to over 100k placing my overal points at 550k or so. As for the painting, I am simultaneously getting it painted as I buy it, so, when it comes to me its all nice and painted. I might take some pictures of the first batch I got. Primarch |

Which reminds me: could you possibly be persuaded to part with the contact info of the Polish painter you mentioned a while ago? I might someday decide I can't stand my own painting... Besides, a friend of mine recently moved to Poland; I just might use him as a proxy. ![]() |

Hi! They don't paint "professionally" but as a favor since I have helped them out with some other epic stuff. So I dont know if they are willing to paint for anyone else. I'll ask though. In any event I have them tied up for about two years (this is NO joke), so they may not have the time. ![]() Primarch |

I'll bet it isn't a joke. I have seen more then one person who starts to paint professionally end up with just a couple of clients because they keep them busy and paid. That is also why before I sent someone some figures I would ask them what the turn around time is. dafrca |

Hi! It didn't start out as a painting transaction but as one of the many "deals" I got going for more epic stuff. The person brought up that he had friends that could paint "okay", so I tried it out and the result was very good. Suffice to say they will be painting ALL my unpainted epic stuff, which is a lot to say the least, PLUS all the other deals I have going for craploads of epic stuff. Just imagine painting all that I have at present all over again and that how much they are going to paint. It's a staggering amount. By the time they are totally done (i.e. I reach those one million points) they will have easily made several thousands dollars off me. To me at least, they will have earned every penny! Primarch |

...Blimey, I'm sure they'll have earned their money. with that sheer quantity of stuff to paint... it will have to go down in the calender when the dayfinally comes that it is all, finally, finished!! .....hehe, we know you'll be adding more and more stuff though primarch- after all there is always the "no lead/dead" rule to think about.... lol ![]() |

STOP!!! ![]() Dont you remember this conversation a few months back? The penalties we discovered if you were to actually finish painting all the lead and plastic you own? They were DIRE. Dont even think about it...in fact buy more QUICK to ensure you have a healthy excess of unpainted stuff ![]() |
